@HeartsandSparkles:  Definitely weird.  Definitely a compliment.  Nothing to get upset over, though!

As long as you had it first , I dont think it should be anything to get upset over, or even mind. She’s copying your style, just take it as a compliment. 🙂

I think its a compliment, and whilr the side view is unique, the top view is very common now-a-days.

Is it a Verragio? Because they have SO many styles. I’d be kind of weirded out but oh well.

@HeartsandSparkles:  While imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I do think it was quite insensitive of her to get the same ring. Everyone wants to think they have something special that is only for them, especially for an engagement ring!

At least she got 4 prongs so it’s not exact. A few questions though. Does hers have a better/bigger diamond (or cz/moissanite) than yours? Is she normally just insensitive or is she competitive too?

I agree with a PP that from the top view, that is a fairly classic and common style. While it’s gorgeous and stunning, it isn’t particularly unusual if you know what I mean.

However, the side view is pretty distinctive. So in other words your aunt got this exact same ring with the same side details as you?? You would think she could at least pick out something similar, instead of the exact same model!!

I would find that odd. I would honestly feel frustrated as well. Sorry this happened to you! Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it, so try not to think about it.

I don’t get why it’s weird. She saw something and liked it. I mean, it’s not as if anyone has a monopoly on ring styles like that.

    I’d be pissed.

She could have at least asked you if it would bother you, since obviously you were the one who told her where you got it and she didn’t express that she was gonna go look at getting the same one.

I think she was seriously sly & I would lose a lot of respect for her, honestly. Mostly because she didn’t think she she did was underhanded & she didn’t even bother to tell you before she showed up with your e-ring replica.

I’d think it’s a bit odd but wouldn’t let it bother me, and I certainly wouldn’t raise the issue with her. Did she show you in a competitive manner?

Well, I think it’s a bit weird, but really, that syle is SO common now, that even if she’d gone to aother store, she could have found something similar and noone would notice if it was identical or not.    It’s a beautiful ring!
