I was told to keep my dog calm when he was neutered, and I can imagine the advice would be the same for a female dog.  Do you know if it was an entire incision or a laser spay?

You may have to keep her in a small room to prevent a lot of running, and leash walk her instead of letting her out in the yard so she doesn’t run around too much.

Also, check the incision area and keep an eye out for signs of infection (red, swollen, hot to the touch, and any cloudy discharge)

Try to keep her from licking it too much as well.

Also, good for you doing your part to help end pet overpopulation!

I’d try to keep her life calm and her activity level down (as much as possible!) for the next few days, but she’ll probably be pretty much herself again tomorrow. Just keep an eye on the incision site and if you worry about how it looks, call the vet’s office to check in — they can either reassure you or have you bring her in and take a quick look at it. Good luck to her as she heals!
