Such a beautiful story and stunning ring. Are you trying on and taking pics of the engagement ring and wedding band together or do you wear them together? Just curious.

We left the store that day and went shopping again about a 2 weeks later. I couldn't get "that ring" out of my mind and every other store we went to I found myself comparing it to "the other" ring. Just when it seemed like nothing else could compare we went to our last store of the day and found some competition lol. It was a very pretty princess cut three stone ring with side accents and it complimented my hand so well. I went back and forth between the new ring and "the other" ring. I had to see the other ring again just so I could remind myself how it looked to get a better comparison of the too.
We went to the store and it was gone. I told myself, I guess it wasn't meant to be. I went back to the car while my fiance went back inside to double check and show the new sales person which ring it was. He came back to the car and showed me a picture he had just taken in the store; they had the ring!!! I was so excited to see the ring and cried by just looking at the picture of it. I knew it was my ring. I went back inside to try it on only to be heartbroken again and find out someone else had purchased it. All I had was pictures of "my ring". Needless to say I left the store that day disappointed.
Fast forward to June. After a few months of not seeing a ring that I liked better than "my ring" I kind of lost hope and said whatever he gets me will be beautiful(which is still the truth.) I figured it would be a while until he asked me to marry him anyway b/c I told him he had to ask for my mothers blessing and my god-fathers blessing(b/c my father is deceased) It was no sweat getting in touch with my mom and asking her but my god-father is beyond busy with work and he wanted to talk to him face to face. The opportunity finally presented itself at a summer bbq. When we left I asked if he had talked to him about it and he said "No but I think he kind of knows whats up" Oh great I thought, now I have to wait 4 more months before they will talk again and before we can get engaged.
He had recently got a promotion at his job and said he wanted to celebrate. So we made plans to go out on a date that Saturday. I have never been one to dress up and get my nails and hair don so I figured I would go all out for him.I had a girls day with a friend of mine and we were going to get dressed at her house(I didn't want him to see me until I was all the way ready lol) I got new heels, my hair done, and my nails and toes done.He cleaned up pretty nicely an a grey suit and tie and nice white dress shoes. I was so excited. He loves to surprise me so I had no idea where we were going, I just knew what time to be ready. We drove downtown to the Sundial restaurant which is all the way at the top of the Westin Hotel and overlooks the entire city of Atlanta; simply beautiful. We sat down for dinner and talked and laughed and just enjoyed each other company. When it was time to go our waitress saw my camera on the table and offered to take pictures for us.
We stood up and we were taking pictures, prom style(him behind me holding me at my waist) Our waitress told me to turn around for a different pose. I turn around and to my surprise there he is getting down on one knee in front of the entire restaurant. I instantly started to cry and he said "I don't care if it's a big world or a small world, as long as you are in it with me I will be ok. Will you marry me?"
I nod my head yes and look down to see a silver box with MY RING in it!!!!
As it turns out, HE was the someone who had bought the ring (just a few days after I said I loved the ring. He must have been freaking out when I said I liked "the other ring" better lol), HE really did talk to my god-father that day at the bbq, and HE had been hiding the ring in MY very own closet for the past 4 months.
The reason it took him so long to finally ask, after having bought the ring, was he knew how much it would mean to me to ask my dad's best friend, my god-father, for my hand in marriage.
Here are some pictures of the ring and the proposal!!!
