Very nice! I'm thinking about styles similar to that! Congrats!
My FSIL is wearing that dress on Friday! But she had the train completely removed
Very lovely! Sometimes a dress with great, simple lines is all the bling you need! It is very very pretty and you got a great price too! Congrats!
Great dress! Glad you were able to find it and get such a great deal on it!
Pretty dress! It looks like it'd be flattering on everybody! It feels so amazing to get a good deal; i'm glad it was win-win for you!
Love it! Congrats! Doesn't a good deal make you feel sooo good?!
Btw, I love your name!
Way to go on getting such a good deal on your dress! I felt really good becuase I got mine for $600, but I would have been ecstatic to get it for only $250. If they had David's Bridal in Canada I totally would have gone there. Congrats again! It looks beautiful!
I got my dress which is also made by Alfred Angelo and it was originally 599, i got it for 285. I'm a frugal bride too and saving a bundle is always awesome!
Wow! Your dress is absolutely gorgeous! Great find and I love that it was so inexpensive! Congratulations!!
Congratulations on your great deal! I think it's even better when something that you absolutely love (and would pay full price for) is on sale. My dress was a sample at Priscilla of Boston for $199! It looks almost identical to a dress that I had torn out pictures of. Sometimes it all just works out :)
That's my dress - lol! Congratualtions - it's a beauty and you got a way better deal on it than I did!
Lovely! And yes, I am proud of my frugal find, I wrote about it in my bio...
my story is the same! lol. i saw the alfred angelo one, and was blown away when i found the DB one! So similar and so pretty and so much less money!

I fell in love with my dress when a saw the ad for the Alfred Angelo collection in some bridal magazine. It was simple, unique, an affordable $600, but most of all it was not puffy and had no sequence. I'm not hating on the women that like the puff and glitter, it's just not for me. I also knew I didn't want the same cookie cutter strapless/tube top looking dress, again I'm not hating, it's just not for me. I've seen plenty of girls trying to keep their girls in place and covered up, again it's just not for me. So this dress was perfect with the off the shoulder, v neck look and the rouching does wonders on my figure. So I set out to look for my specific dress Alfred Angelo 1148. Many stores told me they didn't have that exact style but to come in for a similar dress. Of course I was so excited to realize, that really meant they just wanted to get me in door.
It worked and I set my foot in the door on the hottest day in Chicago this year. Some of you may not know we had an unusually cool summer, I didn't mind one bit. NO air, bad service, a pushy sales women that did not listen to what I wanted, made the worst experience for me. I simply told her (in a NON Bridezilla way) I do not like strapless but, of course, that's all she pushed on me, probably because they did not have many non strapless (Sorry I had to rant). So we left unhappy, hot, and angry (oh yeah this crazy lied to my face and accused me of not knowing what I wanted then said "We can order the dress if you want." Helllooo I'm not giving this woman my money. Three weeks later I received an anonymous letter saying that bridal boutique has had numerous problems not delivering the dress because they don't have the money to pay the manufacturer and all deposits go to their overhead. Phew thank goodness I avoided all that drama.)
So my mom, my Tia (aunt), my sister (Maid of Honor), my mother in law, my two flower girls and I went across the street to another bridal superstore with air, good service, super expensive dresses, but none that fit my criteria. NO puff, no sequence or very minimal, simple. Since we were starved we left and met the boys up for pizza and salad. But oddly enough I knew I was going to find my dress the next day at David's Bridal. I should have just skipped all my appointments and went to DB that day since I had known about the dress.
I had received an email from David's Bridal titled "We have what you are looking for," and they were dead right. I opened that email and the knock off to my Alfred Angelo was represented to the T, T9861. The same exact dress for $299. The next day, Monday, I was off from work and I called as soon as they opened to make sure they had that dress to try on. I'm glad I called because the new Logan Square location by my house did not have that style but another Chicago location had that dress so I made my appt. So I anxiously awaited til my mom got off of work so we could get there as soon as possible. I even drove to get there faster.
When we got there the sales women had no idea and had never seen that dress but we scoured every rack to find it. There it was all confined to that nasty plastic bag that gave no life to the dress. There was just one problem, the dress was too damn small for me to even try on. Luckily my bridesmaid/cousin/friend was there to the rescue so I made her try it on. No qualms there she thought she'd never try on another dress after she had her wedding day. She came out and it was perfect. All the attempts of trying on several dresses and looking at my mother's reactions. Hearing over and over nope that's not the one, I still like the off the should one (Alfred Angelo). I looked at my mom and we said at the same time "that's the one." We bought it, no questions, no concerns, no worries it's the perfect dress.
As we went to the register I had to call my finance to get our credit card#, we were going to use for the wedding expenses, the lady told me my dress was on sale for $250. I was super excited since I'm a frugalista and I love a great bargain. Of course with the wonderful Cook County taxes I ended up paying about $275, which still isn't bad, but those taxes are so harsh. So when I told my honey what I paid, he asked "when's the next payment?" "None babe, that is the final price." That felt so good to say. He was shocked that it was so inexpensive. I got what I wanted at a great price and I didn't even need to be a Bridezilla. No groomzilla wants his own custom made tux, I said only if it's cheaper than my dress. Good luck with that one.
Did anyone else get a super fabulous deal on their wedding dress?
