K, I know I JUST posted… But I have yet another ‘beef’.
Don’t you hate it when the Universe rubs it in?? For example… I’m sitting here at work and I get an email that I have to send out to staff. There is an attachement with the email, so I open it up. The first line in the memo (attachment) says: “Notice of a Proposal to Engage in a Renewable Energy Project.”
Really? REALLY?? Do they HAVE TO use those words… ‘Proposal’ and ‘Engage’. Could they not have used another word!?
What are your experiences with stuff like this?

Don’t look at it as a bad thing…maybe The Universe is sending you a sign…

Oh, that’s totally annoying! One weekend last year, during my really itchy waiting period, we went on a day trip to a nearby town. We wanted to just spend the day having fun together, exploring, and de-stressing (b/c the whole engagement thing had been putting some stress on our relationship lately). Well, about halfway through the afternoon we walked into a hotel in the town square and walked smack into a wedding party all lining up together. We headed out and down the street, and here come the bride and groom riding along happily in a horse drawn carriage. We just looked at each other and I forget what FI, then-BF said, but it was totally awkward and nearly ruined the mood of our little afternoon getaway. Boo…

That’s hilarious but not at the same time… I had been waiting for years….our really close friends got engaged, both younger than us and hadn’t been together as long. Then a couple days later we leave to go to another friend’s wedding and we had to cross the border. Here’s the conversation:
Border Guard: How do you know each other?
Me: Um….we live together???
BG: Where are you going?
Me: Eventually to Manitoba.
Me: My friend is getting married and we’re going to the wedding.
BG: Well when’s your turn.
Me as I turn to the SO: Excellent question…

I was just talking to my coworker about this! We have a calender with teaching stuff on it in out room (We coteach Pre-K) and for the entire month of September it said:
As in engagement of your student in the subject matter, but really? It was HARSH. LOL

Oh, and to add to my first post… I thought the universe was done ‘rubbing it in’ yesterday, but no. I get home from work, and every tv show that my b/f and I usually watch on week nights all had an engagement theme, ring theme, or wedding theme. I just can’t seem to get away from it!!
And THEN, a commercial came on about some girl trying to fit into her wedding dress and my b/f made a comment. So of course, we started talking about my dress (yes, I have a dress that I LOVE). It’s currently at my parents house and my b/f said: “You’ve probably tried it on a million times, haven’t you!? lol.” I told him: “I had only tried it on once… When I first brang it home. But trust me, every time we’re there I want to run upstairs to the spare room, throw open the closet doors, and put that sucker on.” He asked why I just don’t do it anyways, so I explained that I had to keep it nice and clean for when I actually DO wear it .
After that, we went to bed and I couldn’t sleep because that’s all I could think of… Putting on my dress and just walking around with it… Maybe do some housework or something. I just wanna prance around in it, that’s all. *le sigh*
Damn you, universe! *shakes fist*

@Gwen von D – Thats gotta suck! I hate moments like that – its always awkward when e-ring ads come on TV or people getting married on TV shows.
@HoyaLawya2010 OMG that happened to us a couple of months ago but they were doing their photos on the pier next to where we were having a picnic dinner and we both just sat they silent for like 20 mins while they did their photos and watched.
@NYE Gal LOL! What did SO say to your comment!?

@shmell7: He just laughed and said, “go figures….”
I still had to wait 10 more months!

Yes, always awkward when the ring commercials come on–but I really do hope he is listening to them!!! Hopefully all of the signs are a good thing and it is going to happen for you soon!

I know what you mean, I love it when my facebook adds all relate to rings, weddings, or babies. I don’t even have the ring yet!
