@PrncssDva:  Just two questions – are you wearing it with the elasticy side down over your pants at your hips (basically so the elastic is just below the point at which you have unzipped your pants to?  Are you folding in half back over itself?

If you are doing both of those things, it may just not be working for you – I know a lot of people swear by these things (I love mine) but I have seen a number of people who think they are a waste of $$.

Belly bands suck period! It’s not just the ones you have. All a belly band is, is a shorte tube top to wear aroudn your waist. Since you are going to need to invest in maternity pants you might as well buy them now and get more use out of them.

@PrncsDva- The way I thought of belly bands is that it was just delaying the inevitable. Put yourself out of your misery and just be comfortable. Noone will know they are maternity pants, you will feel better, and since you are buying them anyways you might get more uses out of them.

What works for me lately is an elastic hair tie. Nobody can tell, because I have maternity tops and those are really long. You just loop it around the button then through the hole and then loop it around the button again. I can still wear my favorite jeans (low-rise) and not have to worry about buttoning them all the way. It has saved me alot of money on maternity bottoms. I don’t know if you want to give that a shot or not.

I used my belly band for like 2 weeks before just switching to maternity pants. Seriously…switching was best decision i’ve ever made. I was kind of mad at myself for putting it off for so long. Maternity pants are so so comfy – much more than belly bands.

One thing to note about the panels that only go half way up it that when you start to get a nice hard belly, those bands kill! Besides hurting from pushing down it make you look like you have a roll in the middle of your torso, so if you have the high bands, you can fold them down for now, or they do have some that sit completely below the belly, but beware of plumbers crack. LOL, low rise pants and pregnancy doesn’t seem to work well for many people.

When I was pregnant last year and wanted to get a belly band and went into a maternity store (can’t remember which one) and had asked about belly bands, the clerk looked at me and said honey belly bands are really really bad for you and you shouldn’t wear them..

Luckily for me I did not gain much weight and was able to wear the clothes I had. (I had lost 35lbs before getting pregnant so my bigger clothes fit me.. and that and I went early also..)

I didn’t like the belly bands.  They put too much pressure on me and caused my bladder to leak.  i have 3 pairs of maternity pants.  And then I have lots of sundresses .  I wear the dresses more because they don’t restrict any where and I can wear most of them post-pregnancy.
