I would go for a different vest/tie but also in ivory or beige...not brown suits. I agree with you...too much brown.
Can you find an appropriate tie for the other groomsmen in a combo of the colors? Black brown and khaki or ivory?
Maybe have the slightly darker vests for the groomsmen but the overall theme and ties need to be coordinated somehow.
Here is a great link: click on the color Windsor Tie gold (under color selection) and this lovely assortment of shades including brown, gold, black and ivory comes up! VERY dressy and what I'm thinking of to bring everything together.
and they're on sale!
Imagine this tie in these colors!
How elegant is the event? Since mine will be in the summer, I'm thinking about having the men wearing khaki suits from Banana Republic.
My BM's are wearing truffle and my guys will be in a black tux with truffle vest & tie. I think it'll look fine. I don't like truffle colored tuxes/suits though. My other color is aqua & ivory. I really don't want them in aqua and now the fathers are wearing ivory. The wedding is a summer evening wedding, so I'm torn that it's too dark (because of it being summer) but I, like you, don't really know what else to do!!
Are you ok with the back tux (same as your FI) and truffle vests/ties? I think that looks sharp. Your FI will look good in the ivory/beige b/c he will coordinate with you. The GM will coordinate with the BMs. Black tuxes are a classic look, so they go with any color.
Thank you everyone. I think I have the gm wear beige too, but the tie will be plain. The event is in elegant venus with beautiful setting.
Ok so here's my experience with Men's Warehouse..... Do what you want!! They will tell you that such and such doesn't go with this or that but honestly... both brown and black, grey and tan are all neutrals so you can mix them! sweet huh!? my BM's are wearing brown satin dresses and they guys are wearing the brown tux's from MW with platinum silver vests and the Groom is wearing the white vests. The Dad's are wearing black tux's with the same platinum vests.
So there you have it! Do what you want... it's your day and no one will notice or really care if everyone is in brown or you switch it up. Have fun with it.... it's the only time you get to do this so do it right =D

What color should I pick for the guys? My FI is wearing the one in the attached photo. I don't want them to wear brown tux/vest/tie, b/c I don't want the whole party to be brown. I went to menswear house and the lady told me to get the truffle vest, brown tie and brown suit or it won't match. What do you think? What color should I pick for the guys so my FI will stand out in the group? Should I pick beige, but more plain looking?
