Aww, I'm glad to hear you had a good shower (and I'm almost positive you look LOVELY in the pictures. We're our own worst critics). I had so much anxiety about mine and originally didn't want one, but I'm glad I caved because my mom and sister threw me a wonderful shower last April.
I think the only thing I would have done differently if I had a say in the planning was to make it a little longer, or contacted all my friends I don't get to see often for an "after party" of sorts. The shower was three hours with about 25-30 people, so it was hard to see everyone and catch up. Plus, on top of eating and opening presents, it felt like it only lasted a few minutes. But really, it was one of the most amazing days ever.
awe yay! It sounds like everything was WONDERFUL! And first and foremost - Im sure you look LOVELY in your photos! Mine was this past weekend as well! It was on Saturday, and what made it really special for me was that all 6 of my bridesmaids were able to make it. They are scattered all over the east coast and one in Wisconsin (shes temporarily there doing an off-Broadway show). MY FH had silly answers to a lot of my questions as well, Im with ya there sister!
Another favorite was having each table pick a bride and make a wedding gown for her in 10 minutes using 4 rolls of Toilet Paper and anything on top of the table. I was the judge. Some of my ladies were darn creative!!
No complaints about mine really. A couple of my moms neighboirs were Debbie Downers, but I ignored that
They dont like that our 2 dogs are the ring bearers and made snarky comments the whole time.
Sounds like it was great! I bet you didn't look half as bad in your pics as you think, and if you really hate them... that's what Photoshop is for!! :)
@kellyv - Oh thats so great you had your shower this weekend too, and boy what a treat to have all your bridesmaids there since they're all over the place! so nice!
I guess I kind of wish it was longer too, I seriously felt like I was continuously opening gift after gift! I seriously racked in, you have no idea! and when I wasn't opening gifts I was eating - of course. lol
You know what you do with all that lingerie?!?!?! you WEAR it!!! ha!
I got some more risque lingerie for bachelorette gifts, but i found that i LIVED in those silk and soft girly little nighties on the entire honeymoon. They just feel so much sexier and comfier, so make sure you bring a bunch on your trip. Now that i'm home, it's back to the shorts and tanks though =]
Oh, and your photographer will know the correct angle to shoot you from so you don't get that chin. I always get that in regular photos too and am always surprised how much more slender i look in my engagement pictures. your makeup artist will do your face to reflect light better, too!
I'm so happy you had an amazing shower! I'm sure your FI isn't going to mind you having ALL that lingerie. ;) You will look gorgeous on your wedding day no matter what!

I was surrounded by my closest family and friends this past Sunday, and let me tell you I had a blast!
There was copious amounts of food (a must in my family...my aunt made 13 dishes!) yummy cup cakes, lingerie, lingerie, and more lingerie...I have more than I know what to do with! It was a blast! my girls did such a good job planning games etc...
eep in the how well do you know your groom game I only got 11 out of 25 questions right, but in my defense he chose silly answers!
One part of my shower that really made me so happy was my long long long time childhood friend (we met at the age of 4 and have been kept in touch over the years) we have become more aquainted the past couple of months and it was brilliant to see her there. She really put the icing on the cake if you will.
The only thing that got me 'down' was looking back at the pictures...I look so gross, it's double chins city so that makes me really worried that in 40 days (whos counting?) its my wedding, and I pray I do not have those double chins in the photos that I will have all my life! sigh...
anyways it was fun! and I thought I would share!
what was your favorite part about your shower? what didn't you like? (if anything)
