- Wedding: March 2012
and oh how much fun.
There were 25 invited, and 7 besides myself showed up. There were 6 that had rsvp’d that didn’t show. The only one from my family that came was my 23 yo daughter, who is maid of honor and with my matron of honor set it up. It was a great breakfast at a diner. They have a nice patio and reserved a section of it for us. We had a good time. My daughter in the mean time was on the phone the first 20 minutes trying to find out where a couple of other people were that said they were coming. Finally got ahold of one who said she thought it was on the 6th, not today.Never did get ahold of the others. Oh well, their loss.
Anyway, shower gifts were…. $60 cash, a Mr. Coffee Iced Tea Maker from our registry; Toasting Glasses that I had picked out; a set of Redneck Wine Glasses with our favorite NASCAR driver’s number on the lid and camo ribbon around the neck; my fmil paid the deposit and rental fee for our venue as our shower gift.
I was given a tiara with a veil attached; an autograph hound who I named FLASH, as the party was at the Flashback diner; my Bride To Be sash and pin that I was told to keep and make sure to wear to rehearsal as we are going out for my bachelorette party right afte rehearsal dinner.
After that was all over, my fi and I went with his parents and his brother to our favorite little nascar bar and watched the race, where my favorite guy led quite a few laps, ended in 4th, and had an over all good day. FI bought me a Jimmie Johnson ball cap and fbil won me a Jimmie Johnson matchbox car from 2004. All in all I am a happy Bride To Be.
I was very happy for my friends and future family that made it to the party. I know my family wouldn’t make it due to it having been on a Sunday morning and they did not want to miss church. However my Matron of Honor works Monday – Friday 2pm – 10pm; Saturday 9am – 10pm and 2pm – 6pm on Sundays. Makes for not a lot of options. She did take the sunday of our wedding off… OMG that is 3 weeks from today.
