My Bridesmaid just called and told me that she just took a test and it was positive!! I'm really happy for her this is her 2nd baby, and she had this massive fibroid tumor (2 lbs) removed before her first baby and going into the surgery they didn't know if she would've needed a hysterectomy.  But thankfully they were able to get it out, and the doctor told her to wait a year to have her 1 st baby, but that she should try to have as many as she wanted as soon as possible after that in case the tumor came back.  She had taken a test a few weeks ago and it was negative. So yesterday we went for her first fitting and it pretty much fit her good except the hip was a bit snug.  And then this morning she called and told me she just took another test and it was positive!!!  There's 43 days left til the wedding, do you think she'll still fit in her dress?? She said I might have to kick her out, but I DEF. won't do that!! She is my best bridesmaid!! Think her dress will still fit?? she says she'll be like 13 weeks by then...And there's not enough cloth to make her a new dress...I got the cloth from Mexico!!

She won't be that far along at that point, I wouldn't really sweat it - one of my BMs was 1/2 way along and she fit her dress fine at our wedding.

Some people actually lose weight in the first trimester due to nausea and loss of appetite!  So odds are, you should be fine. :-)

But you may want to have a backup plan in case she doesn't fit... can your seamstress let the dress out a bit with a little extra cloth, if she has to?

13 weeks? She might be ok. She might barely fit, LOL. My friends were more like 14/15 weeks along before they needed some new jeans, but my one friend is 20 weeks along and still has 2 pairs that fit. 13 weeks might be snug, but she's not really bumpging by then.

We were just scouring the internet for 13 week bellies...they don't look too big, but they say the second baby shows faster than the first....I hope there's enough cloth to let it out!!!

would you consider putting side panels in her dress? I don't know what it looks like, but you might be able to find a similar weight fabric in a neutral/coordinating shade and put thin panels down the side seams. They wouldn't show a ton because they'd be under her arms, but it would give her the space to grow!

I definitely think she'll still fit in her dress. I don't think 2 months along she'll be showing. Don't get stressed!!! If she is showing, I'm sure you'll be able to fix the dress to her size at the time :)

She *should* be fine at 13 weeks, most women don't get a real bump at that point, but everyone is different.

I hope it all works out - beautiful dress!!

That's exciting! (About the baby!) I would think she'd be fine with the dress if she's 13 weeks. My FSIL is preggers & is about 12 weeks along now-she's not that big, but you already have a dress. Mine's due 2 weeks before the wedding! :)

I don't know that much about pregnancy, but if there's a problem maybe you could consider putting in a lace-up back?

Since this is her 2nd baby, shes going to be a belly faster than she did with her first, so there is a chance that it might be too tight.  She could try to wear spanx.

given the style of the dress, you could always put a small panel in the back to open it up a bit, should she gain weight. The sash would hide it nicely. BTW, beautiful dress!

I don't know how much a pregnant woman would show in different stages but that's a beautiful dress!  i hope she fits. Is it possible to let it out a little?  I personally just found out that one of my BMs is trying to get pregnant. I am not sure what to do about that except pray that she won't get pregnant too early lol I am so bad.

You could also change the waist so that hers is empire.  That would give her belly ample room.  You'd have to tweak the shash a bit.
