- Wedding: September 2011
My caterer dumped me because they would rather lose my business than answer my emails and phone calls promptly. Or so it seems.
I guess I should have seen it coming when they wouldn’t return my phone calls before I had even booked them. I left several messages and when I called the last time, a month after I had left the first message, one of their employees said “I’m sorry but he’s very busy,” and I said, “too busy to cater my wedding?” and I finally got a call back.
I sent him my deposit and asked for a contract to review and he said he would have it to me the next day. Two weeks later, I still had no contract so I emailed again and said “This lack of promptness in reply to my questions and requests is very disheartening. Please send me a contract as soon as possible.” or something to that effect.
He finally sent me a contract but I had questions and I didn’t approve the contract. I sent him an email back asking the questions and yesterday I emailed him again because it had been over a week since I had sent the first email! I said, “I find your lack of communication confusing. Am I expecting too much? Should I be using a different email address or would you prefer I call you? Please answer my questions as soon as possible. If I have to ask again for you to answer my emails sooner than a week after I send them, I am going to have to ask for a refund and go elsewhere.” He emailed me back right away saying “I’m sorry I have disappointed you in this process, however I think it is best you find someone else to cater your wedding.” ugh.
I guess I just need to vent. It took me forever to find a caterer that I liked and within my budget and now I have to start all over again 6 months before my wedding. I am so disappointed.
