you have me thinking back to my first caterer, who was extremely nice and accomodating. he gave me a contract and i gave him a deposite. he then falls off the face of the earth until about 2 months before the wedding and then tells me he can't do my wedding because his wife has cancer, blah blah blah. at first i'm sympathetic and just ask for my deposite back, no hard feelings. it's been 6 months and i've asked 3 times and still nothing. each time i asked he apologized and promised to put it in the mail asap. what a douchebag. why do people have to suck?? definitely second: "be careful!"
Oh I'm so sorry! Happy for you that you still have time though and your not out of any money!! What a relief!
Our reception site pulled out on us 6 weeks before the wedding AFTER we had our invitations printed and ready to be mailed. I was furious to say the least!!!! Its amazing how people use the wedding industry for some major scams!

If you followed any of my posts I had posted before about it looking like my caterer fell through and the search of starting to look for someone new. Well today I found out for sure that my caterer is out of business. Come to find out he is a professional con artist. The story is way to long to post. However, I found out that he has scammed tons of people and has opened between 5-10 false businesses. He has been arrested several times before.
Crazy and happy I was smart enough to get out before I paid the bill and was also scammed. Happy my gut feelings and a few inside connections said to go a different route.
EDIT---Just wanted to add that he also seemed like the nicest man in the world. Crazy! So just be careful ladies.
