Here are pics of my two dresses, do you think they compliment each other enough? Wasn’t planning on getting two dresses, but felt that they were both different enough and made sense (ie big dress for ceremony, slimmer dress for reception) plus together I got them for $575!

I likey! Great deal! Yes, I do think that they work well together!

I LOVE your ceremony dress, and you got two dresses for that price!? Great deal!

They both look great and for that price? That’s a steal!
I’m doing the ceremony ballgown and slim reception dress, too!

I am going to be super honest and I don’t mean to offend but I don’t like the ceremony dress at all. It’s probably because the reception one, the slim one is a KNOCK OUT dress! It makes the ceremony one look meak (is that how I spell it?). I think though that my taste is anti-cinderella gown type dress. It would be fun to wear two dresses however. You look FAB in that second dress I think that would be the stunner for your FI!

I especially love the bustle on your ball gown. It is to die for.

Agreed with above – the bustle on the ceremony dress is lovely, (although, since you have a reception dress, the bustled look might not be seen, except for maybe in pictures, unless you’re doing your entrance/first dance/whatnot in the first dress and then changing).
In any case, the dresses have similar styles, and both suit you well (wish I had the figure to pull off those tulle tiers). For that price, why the hell not?

They are both amazing dresses – and to me, different enough to justify having two. And the price? YEAH. I think it’ll be great. 🙂

I love the train of the first dress. I’m not sure what your venue looks like but I imagine it being in a big church or country club (sorry if it’s not but that’s what I see). And the reception dress is stunning. And for that price you really can’t go wrong with either 🙂

Thanks so much for all of your responses. The ceremony will be in my church. The dress feels “wedding” to me and i think the train will be the wow factory i’m going for. The bustle is beautiful! At our reception we will be announced and do our first dance (so i’ll still be in my dress) then after dinner I’ll slip away quick and change. When I just had hte first dress I felt I was missing a bit of my personality. Not to mention i’ve worked hard on my figure these last months and I wanted to show it off a bit 😉 so the second dress was perfect. Plus for dancing it was a ton lighter. Still excited about the price!
Dress #1 $225, underskirt $60, veil $25, Alterations $150, Jewelry $50, tiara borrowed, shoes $20
Dress #2 $350, alterations $110 (accessories match ceremony dress)
Total for two looks: $990 (about what one dress was going to cost me and that wasn’t including tax or accessories!)

Love them! I think I love the ceremony dress more, but hey, two for that price? Can’t beat that!

Wow, you did awesome. I love both dresses on you!! Who makes the second dress? I’m looking for a slim reception dress too.
