I ordered a chinese replica of the JA 8465 on 27th April, it arrived on thursday..
and here it is in all its glory!!!
Although its not so much like the original, i actually love the dress in its own right. The workmanship is incredible and its so well made!
It still needs a couple of adjustments, its too big for me (my fault- i added an inch to measurements to be cautious!! oops!) and i am thinking about taking off the extra applique and maybe one or two layers of tulle as its quite poofy and needs a good iron:)
ps. PLEASE ignore my very messy university room!

Very pretty! It really looks nice!
You should tell us where you ordered it from. I think a lot of other bees would love to know the name of the company that does quality work. Oh, and you stated that it does not look like the original. Can you post a pic of that? I think bees might want to compare.

Its GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🙂

@2ndtime: OF course, i ordered it from an Ebay seller called simply.love
here is the original:
Although i did request to change the colour of the sash and not to have the additional applique on the skirt of the dress, from seeing pictures of a previous buyers dress. I guess the main difference between my dress and the original is a difference in the texture of the applique.

it looks stunning on you! you have a nice slim waist and this style makes you look even slimmer.
they have done a lovely job on the buttons and zip, mosr replicas of this dress is made with a corsett, but like you, i also had the zip/buttons and i am pleased i did.
i have removed the outer layer of mine, as the lace made the dress too poofy, i might also remove some tulle from underneath.
but i think if mine looked like yours……i wouldnt, but mine is too ‘sugar plum fairy’ for me…….but other than that i love my dress.

Thank you all your lovely ladies 🙂
@anne B: Thank you! I am hoping when it is altered to the right size it will emphasise my waist even more 🙂
Yes i am debating whether all it needs is a good iron rather than less tulle. can you iron tulle? I am still very envious of the lining on the bottom of yours haha! I was hoping they would do the same for mine but it just sort of finishes 🙁
Thank you so much for all your help though hehe, i don’t think i would of had the confidence in simply.love if you hadn’t taken the plunge too 🙂

You’re very welcome….
the lining on the bottom?
to me yours looks like tulle, and its cut off with no need for a hem, am i right?
its still beautiful , but just a little bit different.
my top 2 layers are organza, with 3 tulle layers beneath that. Organza has to be sewn because it frays like crazy, so thats why mine has a tiny hem.
i cant really tell from the picture, but is your top layer tulle or organza?

Oh that explains it! Yes mine is definitely tulle, i dont have any organza in mine. I guess maybe because i asked not to have the lace?! Mine has a champagne underskirt, does yours have that? Its made of like a silky material and is quite thick.
Its funny how they made them so differently!
