I guess I really can't relate. I love my colors and all, but I don't care if the blue is EXACTLY the same shade of blue as something else. There is already so much stress in wedding planning, I'm not going to make it even harder on myself.
I've seen a few blue weddings and none of the blues perfectly match- if you can get them majority of things in the blue you want- then all the other blues are just accents- you know?
Darling- you're not picking just colors- it's a GRAND scheme. It will be beautiful.
I am having the same problems. Another trip to a craft store that didn't have the stuff i needed in my colors (I am doing a dark purple/eggplant) almost resulted in tears yesterday. I am doing more of a color family, I want mostly eggplant with touches of other shades. For the guys they are wearing black suits and vest and we are getting them each a tie with the right colors on it.
Have you thought about having the guys in brown vests?
Sorry you are having a hard time! I can't really relate. = (
I hear you when you say your colors are driving you nuts. My colors are black (easy), white (easy) and green (what was I thinking).
I decided, however, that I have to let some of the small details that no one else is going to notice go...focus on what the wedding means instead of the colors being a little off...nothing is perfect.
non of my colors match at all, so sorry, no i can't relate! but what if you didn't do blue for the tuxes, and did brown or ivory or something else instead.
Well the wonderful woman at Mens Warehouse the other day calmed me down a bit by showing me the brown vests (to go with the brown tuxes)...and it covers up the ties...so it won't be too noticeable...
Maybe you should try having a few shades of blue. That way if something doesn't match one blue, it'll probably be one of the others.
I know it's hard to realize during planning, but it's not as big a deal as you think right now =)
Did you check out dessy.com for the guys colors? They have a lot of colors to match.
I'm with Krissy - maybe take a step back?
Although, I should totally take this advice myself! I had my colors selected and then my sister and I found the most gorgeous dress that isn't quite charcoal, isn't quite blue, isn't quite purple. Good god we had a hard time matching it with everything and I swear that dress has attended every single vendor meeting I have had! Yep definately need to take this advice myself!
I totally regret my BM dress choice. Everyday. But it was the best I could find in a price I was comfortbale with imposing on my friends, so I'm hoping to eventually love my accent colors.
I totally know how you feel! I picked teal as my main color, with some splashes of purple. We picked out the BM dresses from Alfred Angelo in Jade...which was the PERFECT color in my eyes. :) Finding ties to match that exact color teal was impossible, I looked everywhere, got swatches shipped to me from online sellers etc...nothing would match!!! I happened to go into Tip Top Tailors in the mall and learned that they do tux rentals and they had ties that matches perfectly!!! You can't really tell online with the pictures, but I saw it with my own two eyes! MY TEAL was in those ties!!! LOL I was so frikkin excited!!!!!
check out www.freemanformal.com (I'm in Canada but I think they're in the US too)
go to the hardware store and find one of those paint chip cards that matches your swatch... then look to match the other colors on the card if your color isn't available, that should give you other shades of the same color that "go" even if they aren't at the same saturation or a dead on match.
I don't think any of your guests are going to grab a groomsman by the tie, hold it up against a bridesmaid's dress and chew you out for not color coordinating better.

Is anyone else completely anal about their colors? I'm having major issues and I'm not sure if it's supposed to be this difficult. I have this really pretty blue color in mind that I absolutely love and I carry a swatch of it around everywhere, and I'm pairing it with chocolate brown.
First of all everywhere I turn I see teal and brown combined...not what I'm looking for!
We ordered the bridesmaid dresses which are Alfred Angelo blue jay with a tiny brown sash and bow. The blue was not "exactly" what I would have picked but it was the closest I could find in a dress to my swatch. SO I ordered the tuxes also this weekend... apparently the only blues they have are so far off I could scream. SO I'm freaking out... Is this normal? I know I shouldn't care this much... but If I'm going to do it I want it to look nice you know?
I mean how off is everyone else's matching between the guys and girls? I'm sure I'm not the only one out there? Or maybe I am lol!
