There was a board about this not too long ago. Some said it was weird, so don’t come here with that because it’s not your hand… Anways, both of my parents have passed away and my grandfather was always my father figure. He passed away the day after we got engaged and I never got the opportunity to tell him because we were on vacation. He was always my rock because we went through so much together in my short 22 years. He meant the world to me and will always be with me. I learned that you could have stones made from ashes in geology my freshman year. I told him that I was going to have this done when he passed and he thought it was so cool.
I designed the setting to have rose gold “leaves” that also look like an infinity symbol. He loved the outdoors so the leaves remind me of him. The diamonds in the leaves are also from my mom’s (he was her dad) wedding band. The rest of her diamonds are in my engagement ring. I have “my rock” engraved on the inside, because like I said he was always figuratively my rock, and now he literally is. The stone turned out to be a lot lighter in color than I was expecting but I loved the way it turned out.
And finally, I bought my dress back in April. I was studying abroad this summer and was terrified something was going to happen while I was gone. So here we are. I can’t believe Sunday will be 3 months since his passing. The pic was taken on his 75th birthday. He was not happy to be tricked into taking pics, but he smiled from ear to ear when he saw me in my dress, even though he forgot his teeth at home haha! I’m so glad I will always have these pics now!

Gorgeous ring! I love everything about it.

vhenke1: Thank you!!
MrsYokiman: Aww, thank you!!
andixlyn: Thank you!! I got it from cremation solutions. They do a ton of other stuff. They also do diamonds, which is probably what you were looking at, and those are ridiculously priced. Like 20k for a 1ct… My stone was $626 and my custom setting was a little over $1700. I also got a custom size stone because their regular size is ginormous. My stone is not as tough as a diamond though…

ksn1219: I have always wanted to see one of those stones! Gorgeous! I love the setting as well.
That might be the most beautiful ring, I’ve seen on WB, because it is the most meaningful. Enjoy it

That is such a wonderful idea! I love everything about the ring and the great story.
Many congratulations! This is going to sound odd, but I am a very spiritual person and can’t help but think he didn’t want to leave until you would have someone else to look after you (your FI and soon to be husband).

It’s a wonderful idea and a wonderful ring. I think it’s special to have a loved one so close to you. A friend put some of her husband’s ashes in a locket, so she has him close to her heart at all times. So no, it’s not weird, it’s beautiful.

longtimemrs: Thank you! I have no doubt he would like it as well!
Yipeebee: Thank you so much!!
Bridey77: Thank you! I ordered the “coral brown” color, so I was expecting it to be a lot darker. I guess it just depends on your body composition or something? lol
nikkiibee: Thank you!
PositiveThinking: Thank you!
madmaxshannah: I know people that do that too! My engagement ring has my mom’s diamond and also my FI’s late moms diamonds! I love that I have all of them so close!
OmbreBee: Thank you! I love the idea behind it!
Consultette: Thank you! It’s not odd at all. I actually talked about that in my post I wrote about my engagement and his passing. Here’s the link.
