My SO and I have been talking about marriage for the past several months. I’ve found pictures of rings that I’ve liked online, but there is always something “wrong” with them. I told my SO I was picky…. but he didn’t realize HOW picky. Recently we went to our local/family jeweler for a different jewelry item, and I was looking at what they had in their inventroy, then he suggested we should probably go the custom route. I had never considered that, since in my head I always though “custom must be REALLY expensive!”. He told us to go to a larger jeweler and take pictures of different rings and we’d be able to mash them together (I felt bad doing this, but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do!). So naturally, me with my picky and expensive taste, I fall in love with a $5k+ tacori band.
Well, with pictures taken, and alot of research, we were ready to go back to our jeweler! My SO and I decided we’d rather do moissanite for the gemstones instead of diamonds. We decided on this for several different reasons. Personally, we both like the look of moissanite better than a diamond. Not only that, but we like the price ALOT better, and after watching a documentary on “The History of Blood Diamonds”, I’m not longer interested in supporting the diamond industry. Our jeweler had ordered in all the stones we decided on, and was in complete awe of how beautiful they were, as so were we! Needless to say, we’re all very excited to see the outcome! My SO still wants to traditionally “ask”, but he wants to make sure the ring is everything I’ve wanted. So… I’ll be apart of the whole “customizing” process up until the wax mold, and once I’ve decided 100% on that, the ball is in his court! And the best part of all this, my ring, with 11 different stones of moissanite set in rose gold, will be about a total of $1300! I’ll take that as a win! Not to mention, my SO is thrilled about the price 🙂
This is the tacori top view that I fell in love with
Here are some pictures of the moissanite we’re having set in the stone. The center stone is a 6.5mm(1 carat)
