My father is police officer and our relationship has always been..strained...to say the least. That is, up until the last 3 years. Well, after I announced my engagement, my Dad (who overwhelmingly approves of my FI) was very excited. He called me tonigh,t after my Mom told him that FI was planning on wearing his military uniform, to ask if he could walk me down the aisle in his formal police uniform. I nearly broke out crying - the image of my uniformed father being there to give me to my uniformed FI is almost too much emotion to handle.
This wedding is really bringing our family together - much to my surprise - and I couldn't be happier.
