I would try this: http://www.origins.com/product/3855/11641/Skincare/Daily-Essentials/Eye-Care/GinZing/Refreshing-eye-cream-to-brighten-and-depuff/index.tmpl?%3F
You can go to Origins and explain your concerns and ask them to give you a little sample. If they don't have a tube on hand, they can put one in a little clear tub for you (they've done this for me before) so you can try it out. I love Origins products personally and love this eye cream in the morning since I'm a chronic bags under the eyes/allergic/not enough sleep type of girl.
It sounds gross, but prescription hydrocortisone cream (like the kind for hemorroids oddly enough) works wonders! The OTC Preparatin H is supposed to work too, but it isn't as strong (it's 1%, but the prescription stuff is almost 3%!)
Put a tube of preparation H in the fridge and put some around your eyes when you wake up. Leave it on for a few mins and wash it off in the shower. It really works just make sure not to get any in your eyes.
Prep H as Piglover said works great. (I did a body wrap of the stuff with plastic wrap overtop for when I was in a bikini contest in my 20s and lost an inch off my waist! lol)
another great trick that really friggen works is take some ground coffee and put in the bottom of a coffee filter, twist the filter and cut off the top (basically leaving a teabag type thing) dampen and put in the fridge for a bit. Place on on each eye and the caffeine takes the puff right out
Good luck!
@Oneeleven: That's really interesting about Prep H! I'll give that and the coffee grounds a shot.
I know that this is just a part of getting older and aside from getting plastic surgery, I know the puff is something I will have to learn to live with. However, just for one day, the one day when all eyes will be on me and we're paying for professional photos, I would like to minimize the puff as much as I can!!
I have a problem with very dark circles, but I understand the puffiness as well! I notice that my eyes puff more when I'm retaining a little more water, which makes sense. Eye puffiness is just another form of swelling, which is just another form of retaining water. I believe in a more internal, holisitic approach to "beauty problems", and think everything is dependent on what we put in our bodies and how we treat them. Which makes me think...have you tried maybe lowering your salt intake?? Maybe try that for a week and see if it makes a difference!!! Up your water intake, try for at least 8 glasses a day, try for a low-sodium diet, and plenty of rest, and maybe even add in some extra cardio to your day to keep everything in your body flowing. You may see a difference!! However...I'm NOT in any way a licensed professional, ha ha, and this is just advice from a healthy-mided person. Hope it works!! Best of luck :-) and if you find a magical eye cream that actually helps with puffiness and dark circles, LET ME KNOW!
@tuscanbride:You might have something there with the sodium. I do treat lots of water daily, but could work on reducing sodium intake.
I will attest to Prep H! If I cry, even for a second, the next day my eyes are PUFFY! Especially on top of the lid-- it's genetic with my family. I always have Prep H on hand and I sear it really, really works! You will notice that at first your eyes will water a bit; I think that's the fluids being released, but I'm no doctor. I learned about this on a TV that talked about how celebrity beauty secrets. Girl, you got nothing to lose--give it a try!
@LittleDee27:I'm going to give it a shot! Should I just apply at room temperature or chill it in the refrigerator?
@Birdie Love: if you have allergies i suggest taking LOCAL honey in decaf green tea a teaspoon or two a day can really help! Also evening primrose oil or anything with GLA in it works as an anti-inflamatory that is natural.
@Birdie Love: I use mine room temperature, but cooling sounds nice too...Sorry no response for a while~ my computer was down...
Let us know how it works for you!

Okay...so my puffy eyes is partly due to old/er age, allergies and whether or not I have had enough sleep.I take Claritin every day, try to sleep with my head elevated, but that doesn't really help. I won't be getting plastic surgery any time soon, so I am looking for suggestions.
NOTHING seems to help! I've tried cold sppons, teabags, cucumbers I even bought the Bliss product to de-puff eyes; it didn't work and I returned the rest.
I'm afraid my eyes are going to look like a big bloated mess on the wedding day. Does anyone have ANY tips for de-puffing that has worked for them?
