    Hi!

I am leaving in two weeks for my overseas wedding... did i just say two weeks?  aagggghhhh

We are getting married in the Holy Land... the upper Galilee to be exact!  His (huge) family lives there and my family is traveling there.  We are having a Catholic ceremony in a very old church and then a very LARGE reception (600+).  The first two weeks we are there will be primarily tending to wedding stuff and then for the week prior it will be a lot of partying with a big party outdoors by the church for the night before.  Then we're staying in Haifa for a few days and then going to Italy for the honeymoon.... Yay!

I am super excited but also super stressed because I am having such a hard time getting my packing in order.  I know, I know, I can buy stuff if I need it there but I really want to be prepared.  I tend to either overpack (bring everything "just in case") or not bring enough and end up missing really important stuff.

Should I pack outfits, separates, do you suggest any "must have" items for the wedding?  How are you packing your "must have" items for the big day?

Any advice is appreciated....  I am kind of freaking! :)

Your wedding sounds amazing! I want to see pictures when you return!

I had a destination wedding and I suggest packing outfits. This is what I normally do, but it was really helpful to know what I was wearing to the different events, especially the parties, leading up to the wedding. It also helped in being able to pick out my shoes, underclothes and jewelry to go with those outfits. Pack separates for day wear and your honeymoon. You will want to have options and be able to dress for the way you feel that morning.

Don't forget the obvious stuff like enough toiletries and sunblock. You will also want some flip flop for going to the beach and comfortable shoes to walk around in. I made a mistake and forgot my other packet of birth control pills on the counter (I left them on the counter to make sure I did not forget them! lots of good that did!). Luckily, my girlfriend was able to go to a CVS and pose as me to get a refill. I'm just not sure how many CVS' are in Galilee! Smile

I would definitely say pack outfits.... I ALWAYS forget to pack PJ's (not much need for them AFTER the wedding but might be needed prior).  Also, ensure if you're on BC or any other meds that they're filled prior to you leaving...

how about packing 2 bags: one bag for specific event related stuff - wedding day, preparty, postparty - shoes, accessories - everything. this bag can be untouched until you need it.

then in the other bag, pack as you normally would for a vacation but don't forget lounging clothes too for downtime / when you want to decompress.

Sounds like a wedding extravaganza.... wowza!  You are going to need a major pile o'luggage... Outfits,  YES, and I would list what events you have, and organize the outfits accordingly.  Plan separates for the casual and fill in events and running around.  You will need casual and dressy it sounds, so find a few good comfy pairs of shoes, sandals etc... hopefully some can multi-task. There are several "list" type sites/places for packing that you can reference on line, both for travel as well as wedding... sounds like with all of his family there you'll have some resources at hand.

    Really sounds wonderful... enjoy!!!
