wow, really impressive! You should post this the DIY section with all your instructions.
It's beautiful!
@LatteLove: Thanks so much!! I guess I prob should have put it there to begin with
That's awesome! I love it! Great job!! And I love that spray gun, I'm going to look for one of those. I hate the sticky tired spray paint finger!!
WOW! Are you kidding me? That's fantastic! Great work and quite the inspiration. Congrats!
Wow that's an awesome idea! I would have never thought of that!!!
Thanks so much ladies!! You are making me feel better about my decision to try the DIY thing out!
This is one of the best "inspiration to reality" DIY projects I've seen. How did you secure the string of beads to the candelabra?
oh if only my local goodwill had something like that! that looks fantastic. you did a great job
Seriously, this is awesome! Post the link up here when/if you do the instructions!
@vaness13181: Thanks!! I actually got a small drill bit and put it in the drill. God I hope my FI doesnt read this. He will come over and check me for wounds. At any rate I drilled 4 small holes in each of the platforms then the beading needles pictured above have a small little loop in the end. I put in one bead and looped it around and then fed the others through. When I attached them to the holes I secured them by twisting them like a twist tie. I tugged to make sure they were secure then took a deep breath in disbelief and kept going LOL. They are also thin enough so you cant see them wrapped around the end bead.
Geez, that's an amazing transformation! It looks fantastic :)
you guys are awesome!!
If you want the DIY, I posted it up. Here is the link

Oh, hello! You did amazingly!!! Love it! Way to upcycle a candy!
That. Is. Fabulous.
And I'm totally buying one of those spray guns too!
Thanks!! Yeah the little spray gun thingy is awesome. I found that it helped prevent run marks. You just cannot get the nozzle close to whatever piece you are working with.
I just sent a pic to my fiance' (we dont live together) and he freaked!! Good freaked too. Im think he didnt think I had it in me!! LOL
That is so awesome! I think I'll have to go on a shopping mission at Goodwill. Thanks for the inspiration! You did a great job.
You did a wonderful job! It looks fantastic! You should totally use it!
Love it! Wish I could find some reasonably priced candelabras in my part of the world but it is not happening. You did an awesome job refinishing those!
I think it looks better than the original! My only comment is that the beads you use are a little large at the top of the chain. It might look more delicate if you arranged smaller beads that 'trickle down" to bigger beads. But it's completely up to your preference!
Wow, definitely post this on the DIY board. You did a great job! Good inspiration for me!

Well here we are! My very first DIY project and it only took a day LOL! At any rate I started looking for a little something special for our sweetheart table. My search eventually wound up at Opulent Treasures. I of course wasnt ABOUT to spend that much on anything for a table...EVER! At any rate my first thought was to hit up the Goodwill to look for a silver candleabra. No luck but I ran across a brass one. I looked at it, held it up and decided that it had my name written ALLL over it somewhere in the $4.54 price tag. It was a winner. I was going to at least to attempt to bring this hideous thing to life. So here goes with a breakdown.
First, somewhat of my inspiration after I knew what I was working with:
This is the poor little thing that I bought at Goodwill
So I took it apart and scrubbed it...
Got my materials ready to prime and then paint:
So then I put a few coats and strung my beads etc which are here
And here is the FINAL PRODUCT!!!
Whats the verdict? Do you guys think it looks okay??
