oh my god that's awesome!! my FI would absolutely die of laughter and excited-ness over this.
My first thought: How can I include Mario in our wedding............ hahaha love it!!!
wow! I can't wait to see pictures of your wedding with this theme!
@corgitales, you would be AMAZED at how many nintendo/mario inspired wedding items there are!! The possibilities are endless! We have our Luigi & Princess Daisy Cake Topper... our Mario 1UP Mushroom Candy Tins, our Mario 3 World 2 Table Map, Sam Hart's "Mario Kart Love Song" for cake cutting, our Piranha Plant Card Box... floating "Starman" candles in our centerpieces... I even got a little orange 1UP Mushroom to sew on to my garter, and our groomsmen will be wearing Nintendo cartridge cufflinks!
Omg that's awesome! Possibly the most creative wedding item I've ever seen. I love it!
LOL! Love it!!! really cute!!! and I LOVED the original Nintendo Mario game. LOVED it!!!!
It's always awesome when you go into a store, look around and suddenly go "ah HAH! I know what to do!!!!"
@7SEVENJ9 I cannot WAIT to see recaps from your wedding!!! I don't know if we're THAT into it to do a lot (I never played mario until like 6 mo ago!) but it is one of our favorite things right now and I think it'd be really cute to inject a little subtle mario into our day :)
So cute.....may I suggest checking out etsy.com for nintendo inspired cuff links, they have some really cute ones.
I cannot wait to see pictures from your wedding. So adorable!!!
That is so awesome!! i can't wait to see more pictures. My FH is pretty much obsessed with super mario (he keeps trying to get me to agree to naming our daughter Daisy Peach), we were in the grocery store yesterday and found these.
oh yeah, Super Mario fruit snacks!!! These would be awesome for a Super Mario themed candy bar!!
Yup! Those are the ones our groomsmen and my FI will be wearing! I found out their favorite games and that seller (who did a FAB job!) custom made them - we have Tetris, Blades of Steel, Mario 3, Classic Mario, and FI will be wearing the gold cartridges of Legend of Zelda!
THAT IS SO AWESOME!!! I cannot wait to see your recaps!!! My bff made a huge sculptor out of soda and beer cans of the question dragon for an art class last semester. It is so cool, if I can find a pic I'll send it your way
@7SEVENJ9: I am soooo jealous! If I was gutsy enough to make the entire wedding themed after my favorite video games, I'd have so much fun with it!

Okay bees! I got out of work early today and decided to spend this BEAUTIFUL afternoon creating our DIY Card Box!
I went to Michael's in search of a plain white cube card box that I could paint like the Question Mark Blocks from Mario... no luck... instead I found a round box with a lid, sort of like a hat box... and it reminded me of something...
Hmmm, the perfect Mario-inspired Card Box idea!!
So I grabbed a can of red spray paint, a can of green spray paint, a styrofoam egg, white fabric paint, a silk rose (which I used the stem from) and some duct tape... and here's what I came up with!
