So being the horrible granddaughter that I am, I abused my Mother's Day flower buying as an attempt to create some DIY centerpiece inspiration.

I went to Bachman's, our local flower Mecca. I bought Market Bunches of Peonies, a giant white peony,  a few stems of Lisianthus (spl?) and a little hydranga. Then I worked with a lady at the assembly counter to put this together...

Bwahaha. I love the comment. It made me giggle.

I LOVE peonies. I'm so sad they are ridiculous expensive and not in season in October, or else I would have them too.

I literally squee'd when I saw these hot pink babies sitting there and exploded into an hour long adventure. I also made a smaller arrangement for my FMIL, with Peonies and Lady's Mantle.

I just did an arrangement for my mom today and it had lots of lisianthius in it.  They're great because they're super cheap.  Love your peonies!!

The only thing I am hesitant about is the hydrangea, I don't know if it overwhelms the whole she-bang. But I want it to look really garden-y and simple, so I like that aspect of it.

The hydrangea looks great because it adds a lot with just one flower.  You get a lotta bang for your buck!  I think if you took it out, you'd miss it.  I don't think it's overwhelming, it all goes very well together.
