Hey bee's just want to get some honest opinions.... these are my diy flowers that are made with paper. we are having a beach wedding and my bridesmaids are wearing these dresses. what do you think??? do they look funny?? to cheap??I will also add that my wedding is far from your traditional classic wedding. I am very... as my friends like to say ''funky'' and ''out there'' i will be wearing a flowy fit and flair dress with this updo

I like the look of the white ones, but the pink/blue ones don't look as good.
Yeah, the white bridesmaids flowers look ok, but the pink and blue ones look gaudy and fake.
I just don't think that paper flowers suit the beach theme....
I love the bridesmaids dresses though! They are so pretty and beachy.
I'm the opposite--I love the pink and blue ones and think the white ones don't look so hot. What I like to do with fake flowers is to make sure that they don't look real. Trying to look real results in a sad fail. Just going all out and making something amazing that does not exist in nature tends to look a lot better.
Thanks for your imput guys:) funny thing is i liked the blue and pink the best lol will be wearing bright pink shoes to match. do you have any suggestions as to how to make them better?
I think the pink and blue look cheap when you took a picture with the flash. The white ones are nice, though I think the feathers take away from the pretty simplicty of the white arrangement.
I think the pink and blue would look better without the feathers and the black rosettes. I also don't like the feathers in the other bouquets but maybe I just don't like feathers

Love the bridesmaid dresses!
I kind of think your bouquet would be prettier either all pink or all blue. Pink with a few of the small black flowers and feathers would be cute and would still play off of the bridesmaid dress. And maybe just pick one feather color for your MOH and stick with that. I like the BM bouquets - pretty blue against the white!
I love what your going to do with your hair! And I do like the touch of the feathers.
I think with your bouquet I'd use more of one color. like have a purple flower completely surrounded by blue and then add another purple... if that makes sense? I can see it in my head. lol, but I think it will look great how you have this matching color play through-out your flowers and dresses! What dress will you be wearing?
They look good to me, though I don't think people will expect the colorful ones to necessarily be realistic, if that makes sense. I like how you pull the whole color scheme together and I think it will be beautiful.
I don't know, I like them!! I think your BM dresses are so different and funky, that the flowers will just GO with it. I like em :)

I agree that monochromatic might be better. (The all white looks great!) But either way, the natural eye is not nearly as piercing as that 10x zoom! Anyone not holding them will likely see ordinary bouquets ... Good luck!

I think they look fine for what you are describing. :) I don't care for the black little ones in the pink & blue bouquet, I feel like they kind of make it less fun? I dk. But I like the idea, it's cute. And the BM dresses are great!
love the idea and love the concept , the paper flowers i feel would look better mixed in a real bouquet gives different texture and look , on there own to much , love the clours wouldnt change it just try mixing it up :P
I honestly love both of them! You obviously aren't trying to make them look real. They just like nice and artsy. And if you aren't having a super traditional wedding, I think they'll look great! PS I LOVE LOVE LOVE your bridesmaids dresses!!!
@suzieq80: i was thinking that too but its a destination wedding and real flowers would wilt by the time the wedding came around :(
@beedee12: thanks!!!!!!!! i got them on ebay for $25 each!!!!! i ordered an extra one and in going to make my flower girls dress out of the material!!!
A piece of advice that I've always kept in the back of my mind: "If you even have to ask, you shouldn't do it."
All of the paper flowers shown--most especially the colored ones--look very fake and cheap. I mean that in the kindest way possible.
If you're looking to cut flower costs, maybe ONLY use real flowers for the bouquets and other essential arrangements. Good luck!
i think they're cute! If you want to glam them up a bit, but you don't want real flowers, what if you fuse these with the "brooch bouquet," idea. Lots of sparkle and bling with petals and flowers to soften the lines?
@bigcitybee: thank you for your honest oppinion ;) i am aware that they do look rather fake... wasnt really trying to pull them off as real. i would love to have real flowers in those colours but i am having a destination wedding and would have to purchase them from the resort and i would be looking at $75-100 for mine and $50 for my 5 bridesmaids. (little to pricy for me for one day.......even though it is a very special one ;) )
If it's a beach theme, why not look into seashells boquets? I've seen some beautiful ones at beach weddings. Quite easy to DIY as well.
I think they match really well with the rest of your theme! I do like the white bouquets better, but only because of the way the coloured bouquet looked under the flash.
How will you transport paper bouquets so they don't get squished and ruined? That would be my only concern after all your hard work.
i think it is so awesome that you are making your own flowers!! if it suits your personality then i think it is exactly what you should be doing. i agree with pp that you should think carefully about transport, but other than that, GO YOU!!!!!! and you should check out offbeatbride.com for more quirky DIY inspiration. :)
thanks everyone for all of the great feed back!!! as for tranpertaion all of the girls will be carrying thier own on the plane lol (sucks to be a bridesmaid eh!!!! lol)
OK - my two penneth -- hair LOVE! BM dresses LOOVEE! BM flowers also LOVE! I agree with some of the other bees - I would get rid of the black rosettes, and either: get rid of the feathers in your bouquet, OR add more. There just aren't enough white feathers to look like their meant to be there. So either get rid of them, or add more and make them look like they belong.... Maybe even add a few more white and a couple of black....? See how that looks..? Because the feathers look cool in your MOH bouquet.

I think they look nice!.. also.. LOVE your hair and those BM dresses! So unique
I like them but I think you can do better! For a beach theme and based on what you posted about your hair/dresses/etc., the first thing that came to mind was a funky bouquet of beach grass and bright red and pink anemones. I dunno where that came from but that was the first thought that came to mine! :P
I would ditch the feathers and the black pearl things and I would make all of the flowers much bigger. I'd probably also toss in a few pink and blue ones in the white bouquet and maybe even some white ones in the pink and blue one.
