So I am doing EVERYTHING DIY for my VR/Reception/Anniversary Party. I am making ALL the decorations, centerpieces, bouquets, boutenneires (all for budget sake, and thank god I am pretty crafty)
Well, i have so much to do, that now I am feeling overwhelmed. Its like I have DIY A.D.D or something. Please help me get started…
DIY Brides, how are you tackling your DIY projects? I have a ton of POMs to make, garland, bunting (out door ceremony/reception), I am buying things at goodwill. ALSO its at a park so no glass, I will be spray painting Fuze bottles and other decorative looking bottles white to make them look sort of like milk glass.
Anyhow, for all of you DIY brides out there, how did you get throug it? I’m feeling so overwhlemed and just at a halt right now because it IS so overwhelming. How did you organize your DIY projects?

@bricon: Thanks for the tip. Since this is only a VR, the only wedding party we are having are our kids;) Fortunately my daughter will be coming to visit this weekend and I will be putting her to work haha.
Thanks for the advice, maybe I should ask my friends for help. I know some of them would be glad to pitch in and help me, they are excited for me!

I kept a lot of projects on the go at once and switched it up when I got bored. I also tried to set deadlines to stick by and set aside diy times.

@takemyhand: haha… I have done this, I put it in my google calendar, and then I just dismiss them! I cannot stay on track…
I just need to figure out how to get organized.

Sometimes a one or a two day break from all the planning is what I need to re-energize. Sometimes searching for the perfect candles, picking the accent color, researching favors and then finding out what favors guests prefer….and then contemplating where it all falls within the budget can be a lot. And when you think you are not thinking about it….you really are
Have you ever looked at http://www.sav-on-crafts.com? I have found a lot of my supplies and inspiration from this website. Quality products and good prices.
Finally, when it gets to be too much I re-prioritize. What could you live without having at your VR? What could you adjust in your budget so that you can get everything you envision, but maybe purchase somethings at a lower cost. Ebay is a really good resource.
Keep me posted on how it goes : )

You’ve got plenty of time! Just do what you can as early as you can. Maybe work on some of the projects while you watch tv or talk. Multitasking is awesome.
My mother and I ended up doing so much DIY- we ended up finishing the cake and my veil the morning of! (NOT recommended). The sooner you finish, the sooner you can relax.
