Today was a great day, I got the sample prints of our invitations from Cards & Pockets! Many of you have seen how these invitations have grown from the first rough sketch – and you’ve provided wonderful feedback – helping with fonts, developing details such as our monogram and finally, helping with the wording. Not to mention that you’ve said some amazingly sweet things about my artwork. So, I cried a little when I saw the result today and I have you all to thank for it!
To the result – first of all, I’m SO impressed with the quality. Cards & Pockets did a great job. The paper is thick and nice, colours are bright and the overall feel is amazing. We decided to go with their standard pocket fold in cobalt.
You open it up and you get…
The colours are a little faded on this photo, but in reality they really pop. Also difficult to capture, but we selected paper with a linen finish. I love it, feels very Swedish to me! 🙂
Finally, one more detail shot so that you can get a better feeling of the paper details.
Now I’ll just have to place a rushed order to get the remaining invitations and we’re good to go! Next project will be to create the ceremony programs and the menus – will definitely use Cards & Pockets for that as well!

@MissCountryGirl727: Thanks! I’ve been on pins and needles the last two weeks waiting for the sample to arrive and now I’m just beyond happy with how they came out!
@BeeandBeeBride27: Thank you! I’ve always loved to draw, and then I had a boring weekend and started to make drafts for an invitation and it sort of grew from there. The biggest hurdle was convincing myself that I was good enough to do it – you bees really helped with that. The cornflowers symbolize Sweden (where I’m from) and the poppies Canada (where FI’s from).
@GoldStar: I’m so happy that you think they are personal, that was what I aimed for!
@jessicadarling: Thank you so much!

@ThatOneGirl9613: I like it too, we had initially planned to go with “sparkling sapphire” (I loved the name), but when we got the paper samples we both felt like cobalt was more suitable to our rather rustic wedding!
@littlemisshostess: Thank you!
@blessings: Woot! Just 3 months left!!!
@vorpalette: I’m so happy you like them, I’ve seen your invitations on other posts and they are great!
@Miss Mauverick: Thank you, thank you, thank you! If I decide to quit my job as a geologist I might pick up making invitations instead. 🙂
