Hi, Bees! We are having a DW in Vegas so I decided I am going to do my own makeup. I followed a tutorial on Youtube from Jaclyn Hill (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJTAUXbvJNo) and here’s what I got on my first try.
I did add a few things that I like as well as used alternatives for the eyeshadows used in the video and my own products for everything else. Pretty much the only product I used the same as her was the MAC Pro longwear concealer.
I am still new to doing my eyebrows and this kind of makeup in general, but I am learning and have 3 months to practice! I think I will try making eyebrows thinner and more shaping next time.
Feel free to share your DIY makeup pics, too!

I suggest blending out the blush a little more. The lip colour looks lovely, and your eyes look good too.
With the brows, have you thought about getting them threaded for a more arched shape? That way any eyebrow product you apply would be easier as you would have the organic shape to follow. Also, make sure when applying eyebrow product that you do not put as much color at the start of your brow.
You are very pretty, and looks like with a little tweaking you can do a great job!

I think your eyeshadow/liner is too harsh looking. If I were you, I would try using browns since your skin is so fair and the black looks too harsh.
I think the rest of your face and lips look really well done! The brows need some more practice like you said.

I think you did a great job! I would add a little but more highlight in the inner corner of your eye–that might balance out the PP’s response about the liner looking to harsh. I agree about the comment about the blush–it needs to be blended a bit more and I actually think it’s going too far down your cheek.
The only other critique I have is your brows–did you fill them in? If you didn’t, you have gorgeous brows! If you didn’t, I would a bit, or at least line them to give them a little more definition.

I am a professional makeup artist and I think you look beautiful. Just get a spoolie and add a bit of brown shadow on it and spoolie the shadow in for more natural look. I always do it and I love that it looks softer. I love your blush and everything looked amazing. No need for blending the blush its perfect and yeah trust me spoolies are amazing and just brushing your eyebrows for a more natural look <3

Agree with PP about softening the eye shadow. Other than that, you look lovely!

Thanks everybody for your opinions and suggestions! I really do need to work on the brow situation, haha. As for the black eyeliner, I can’t decide if I like it or should switch to my regular “Tiramisu” shade of dark brown. I will have to try it out next time!
I was always told that makeup like contouring and blush needs to be a little heavier when pictures are concerned so it shows up well on camera, is that not right?

pharmy: blush is a little low and heavy, bled it up. But seriously, you look beautiful!!!

blush should be higher but otherwise I think it looks great

You are gorgeous. I’d lighten up just a bit on the eyes–brown liner, maybe and bring the blush p a bit higher on your cheeks. Bt you are a really pretty girl who doesn’t need much to enhance her beauty.

pharmy: The blush is a little low, you have placed it as if it is a contour. Blending it up gently like HappySky7: mentioned would fix that in a microsecond.

I think you did an amazing job–I love it! I actually wouldn’t change a thing. And also, you have gorgeous, gorgeous skin–just beautiful!
