This project took me about one month to do with some help from family. I made 80 invites and it cost $130-$150 to buy the materials and some tools I needed.
I am obsessive about organization, so I always knew I wanted pocket fold invites. I took inspiration from some posters on here as well as professional invite sites.
Tada! (Sorry for the blurry photos
)
I used www.paperandmore.com to purchase the envelopes and pocket fold b/c it was the cheapest
I also made best friends w/ Michael's to get everything at a discounted price (coupons & sales!)
I used the Chopin Script and Optimus Princeps fonts from www.dafont.com
I printed everything at home... even that mailing address. I set my printer to print the A7 envelope format, which was really easy. I also used stamps to make the envelopes a little more interesting and used a wax seal (wax obtained from an Ebay seller). They make faux wax sticks that fit into hot glue guns. It was really easy and fun!
I used Word 2007 for everything.
I made the weddingmap using our wedding website's tools www.weddingmapper.com
I highly recommend post cards for DIY to save money (no extra envelope purchase/28 for postage). Just make sure they fit the USPS requirements! Also, add a little invite number count to make it easy to keep track of who is RSVPing and who did not. I hid a little number in the corner - on the opposite side that you can see.
