I love it! I'm thinking about doing something similiar. Great job!
looks great! I would maybe put a ribbon around the top so guests cant see the clasp. You dont want anyone "peeking" through your cards. I know it sounds horrible and no one thinks it will happen to them, but I know people who have had gifts "misplaced" from their wedding!
We decided to glue the top shut and we are putting in a trap door if you will on the bottom with a lock. I have heard horror stories from other brides about people stealing- I can't believe someone would ever do such a thing!
So cute. Like it more than "cake" shapes. May have to borrow this idea...

I found the wooden box on clearance at Shopko for $6.00. It was already green, which is one of my colors so I didn't need to paint it.
Purchased the letters from Hobby Lobby at $1.00 Each (or maybe .50 ea. I can't remember now)
Spraypainted the letters brown and glued them on with industrial strength wood glue. Then my Fiance routered in the slit on top for cards.
My colors are green and brown, and I have a rustic them.
