I am the one with the over the top adorable St. Bernard Napoleon. He is a seizure dog, but has been seizure free since end of July and is doing phenominal!
He has weird quirks, that’s for sure, but his weirdest is when we sneeze he gets VERY excited/anxious. If we or anyone sneezes, it doesn’t matter where he is in the house he will come running, sit by your feet, tail wagging, and fidget and paw at your leg. It takes about a minute or two to calm him down and reassure him that you are fine. After that, he goes back to laying down and chewing a bone calmly.
I don’t get it. Does he not like the sound? Does it get him excited or is he nervous?
Anyone else’s dog do this or have a weird quirk?
^^Waiting for daddy to give him an ice cube. He’s obsessed with eating ice 🙂

Ohhhh he’s sweet!! We have a min-pin that actually died when she was a young puppy and she was brought back. Since then she is blind in her right eye and does this weird slapping thing where she slaps herself in the face several times really fast and shakes her head. My FI calls her Slappy the Clown Dog lol She is super sweet but obviously at 8 years old now she is showing more signs of some brain damage that occured years ago. She’s the little black one in the pic…

My parents’ corgi would bark in your face whenever someone sneezed. There was a lot of *achoo* shut up! *achoo* in the house. 🙂 Usually if you sneeze right at her she’d get annoyed and leave you alone to sneeze once or twice more.

Aww, what a cutie!
When my dog was little, she would come running every time I sneezed and give me kisses to make sure I was okay. She still does it sometimes, but not every time anymore. Her current obsession is coming to bathroom with me every time I have to go. She psychically knows if I’m just brushing my teeth or something and won’t follow. But if she thinks I’m going to tinkle, she’s right by my side. Even out of a dead sleep, her little bunny butt gets up and trots right beside me. She never follows her daddy… too stinky in there!

@megz06: I have a boxer and he sneezes constantly. It would be a problem if he hated it, lol. When we sneeze it usually starles him as he is usually napping. He does have to make 10 circles (at least) before he sits down, he will literally hit my laptop off my lap and my phone out of my hand, and he has puppy frenzies constantly (especially after a bath).
He enjoys eating ice too, especially when it comes off of one of his toys that we freeze.

Ok, so it seems my dog isn’t the only weird one, lol. You guys have some cute stories! Thanks for sharing!

@megz06: Our lab likes to stand next to this particular cupboard and whack her bum against it to make the door make noise when it hits the frame. She tends to do this when she wants attention. It’s pretty funny.

Our oldest cat dislikes when people get hurt. By dislikes, I mean he gets angry if you make noise to indicate that you have gotten hurt, I.e. yelling “Ow!” He WILL come and find you and he WILL bite you for making noise.

@sourcandy: Ugh I can kind relate to this!! I have a 2 year old Golden retriever. When she wants attention she pushes the cat door so that it bangs (3 times) in the frame. She will happily sit there for a solid hour playing with the door if your not giving her attention. I have been know to remove the flap on a number of occassions!!

If I tell my lil man to schootchie at night while we’re on the bed, he will go and move over. Tell him to schootchie when it is obviously not bed time? He gets crazy, barking, talking back and play biting. He cray.
He also barks at animals on the tv, he has barked at a picture of himself also.
Here he is waiting for a bite of a cutie orange
