@Njeri:  Gorgeous dress. Great for your described body shape. And I order 6 bridesmaid dresses in custom sizes from Dressilyme and was thrilled with the outcome.

@Njeri:  I happen to have dresses made by both jasmine and dressilyme and Jasmine’s work is, in my opinion, infinitely superior, especially with lace. But it really is a personal decision, most of the lace work I’ve seen from dressilyme doesn’t look right to me but on the same threads there are always plenty of people praising it, there are pronovias dresses similar to the one you like which have been replicated by dressilyme so you can get an idea of how yours would look like. Jasmine’s prices are also much higher.

I created a thread showing both dresses, you can look it up on my profile if you like. Anyway it is a lovely dress, good luck!

I’m in the process of getting my dress made by Jasmine’s and have been following the whole replica dress debate for several months now.

I agree with @Colbride that Dressily Me tends to not have very nice lace work (in my opinion). The quality of the material is definitely lower than Jasmine’s, so if you do go with a replica company Jasmine’s is probably the better option. That being said, be aware that dealing with any replica maker is going to add an element of stress that is not the case when you are buying from a boutique. Expect to have to make a few compromises. The material is going to be somewhat less light and luxurious. The design may not be exactly the same. Customer service is often not that great and will sometimes have you tearing your hair out. You will be waitiing around anxiously not knowing how things are going to end up. This takes its toll on any bride.

Taking all that into account, it is a LOT more affordable, and most of the compromises are worth it given you will only be wearing the dress once. To get the best possible result, I really think you should make sure that you:

a) Try the original dress (or a similar design) on in advance before ordering a replica. You will want to get a good idea of the best dress silhouette on your body BEFORE you order it.

b) Leave at least 5/6 months for the order to come in. Things always take longer than you expect and you don’t want to leave it until the very last minute.

c) Expect to spend a couple of hundred dollars and a few weeks on alterations on top of the cost of the dress. Some replicas will fit like a glove first time, but most won’t. If you have minor problems with your replica (eg. neckline), it will often make more sense to get a local seamstress to fix it and tailor it perfectly to your body rather than exchanging dozens of emails with replica company staff who often don’t have a very good grasp of english.

d) Manage your expectations – if you are usually anal about every tiny detail, you will not be happy with a replica dress.

e) Have a Plan B. If the dress doesn’t arrive or you hate it for some reason, make sure you have another plan in mind before your wedding is a week away.

If you keep all that in mind, I am sure you will have a successful replica journey.
