I'm in love with the "Legacy" style rings, but these prices are ridiculous!  Guess I'd better keep looking, huh?  My guy literally just choked on his beer when he saw this price tag, LMAO!

What's your dream ring if money was no object?

In my opinion, that is a ridiculous price for a ring. I could never wear something like that, so it would go to waste. It would have to be locked in a safe for forever. My dream ring is the one I am wearing :-)

I honestly already got exactly what I wanted: a cushion diamond in a halo setting. It's big enough it looks nice on my finger, but it's not so expensive that I'm afraid to wear it.

I would be scared to death to wear a 5+ ct diamond!

I never get tired of looking at beaitiful jewelry.  While I'm too practical to think about purchasing such a costly ring, I enjoy dreaming like you!

I never had an engagement ring but have had two different rings I wear with my band.

The ring I fell in love with and my husband didn't like had a piece of jade set on either side of a single diamond in a gold setting.  The wedding band was jade set in gold.  Really beautiful and really unusual.  My husband had no training from his parents and they didn't appreciate the sentimentality of an engagement ring.  Oh well.  If I was to see that ring today, I'd buy it in a minute.

    It's fun to dream.

@Sudslover:  I love jade, too, and that ring sounds gorgeous!

I guess I should've put this in the "Waiting" section for those bees who haven't gotten their engagement rings yet.  I should've known a lot of ladies would say the ring they have is their "dream" ring, lol, and I don't blame them!  That's how it should be, but I couldn't resist posting this outrageously priced beauty.  I can't even imagine spending this much on one ring (even if I were to win lots of moolah); I could buy 2 damn houses....but it was fun to dream a little bit!  And yeah, 5+ carats is a huge hunk of rock.  The rings I've shown my boyfriend all look similar to this one but on a much smaller scale.  They all have this beautiful undergallery with accent diamonds though, and I'm hoping (praying) that the one I do get one day is based on this "Legacy" design.

If you like the Legacy design, keep in mind there are a lot of Tiffany-inspired rings out there, only difference is they don't say "Tiffany", so they are cheaper. With Tiffany, you're paying for the name.

I think your dream ring changes once you get YOUR ring. I used to look at all sorts of beautiful rings thinking that's what I HAD to have. But when I got my ring, it's so much better than anything I've seen. It's not what I expected it to be, but I like that. And it's my hubby's great grandma's ring, so that makes it so special.

I'm with Abbyful - my dream ring is the one on my finger. We designed it together and it's everything I ever wanted and more.

This ring is beautfiul but I would be afraid to wear it anywhere and it would be HUGE on my small hands.

I did have to laugh at the free shipping - at that price you sure has hell better be giving me free shipping!!

I love Tiffany's! I saw this ring on ebay earlier with a big price tag too:

    http://cgi.ebay.ca/Tiffany-Co-3-14ct-Round-Diamond-Solitaire-Ring-G-VS1-/110583863980?pt=Designer_Jewelry&hash=item19bf4fdaac#ht_1234wt_1133

I am actually getting the same setting for my engagement ring, which is my dream ring (except I am getting yellow gold with platinum prongs)! However I would never get a 3ct stone. I think that is way too big. The largest I'd ever get is 2ct, but I'm getting 1.5ct for this setting since I think a stone bigger than that kind defeats the delicate and simply style of the ring. This is the ring shown with a 1.5ct stone

That's a gorgeous ring, too, Deathbydesign!  I keep daydreaming about the scene in "Sweet Home Alabama" where Reese Witherspoon's character gets to pick any ring she wants from Tiffany's.  Wow, sooooo lucky!

There are definitely convincing Tiffany replicas out there if you want the Tiffany look and quality for less money! You should check out Excel Diamonds, they have some of the best Tiffany replicas out there! Here is a replica of the ring you posted custom made for a customer of theirs (I think the weird way the center diamond looks is just because it is actually photoshopped in since it mentions adding it later):

Thanks for posting that site!  I appreciate the time and effort you took to do that, and I had so much fun looking through all those beautiful rings!  Unfortunately, that ($3k just for the setting) is priced way above my guy's budget ($1k for center stone and setting).  I may have to settle for a design that is less intricate and thus (hopefully) a little cheaper.  Not that I mind browsing online for hours and hours looking at ring porn, lol......

Yanno, I was all gung-ho about a big stone until I got my e-ring (the center stone is over 2 cts - not huge, but it is set high), but wearing it everyday is a reality check.  I think I could go up to 3 (or 3.5 :) )before it would just become too cumbersome, but prolly not much more than that.  But, I reserve my final decision if/until the 5 ct. rock day ever comes . . . :P

Love the original ring posted!  I'd definitely wear it.  However, I am in LOVE with my ring. :)  It's always been my 'perfect ring'.

@AudzinLuv:  It's funny you mention that scene in "Sweet Home Alabama." I don't know why, but I hate that scene.  I wouldn't want my FI to say, "pick one" for my engagement ring.  I would respond with, "no, you pick one."  There's just something about an engagement ring that in my mind the FI should have more input then just "pick one'.  That scene made me think that that character wasn't right for her.  If it were a birthday ring, then I'm all for the "pick one".  Though I do love that movie!!

@AudzinLuv: Well... you could consider moissanite.

This setting is very close to the one you posted. It's a little over a grand for a 1ct center... still over your budget, but maybe you could stretch it a little ;)

    http://www.moissaniteco.com/tiffany-legacy-cushion-moissanite-engagement-ring-p-8617.html

This next setting is even more like the one you posted, but it is closer to 2k

    http://www.moissaniteco.com/tiffany-legacy-style-cushion-moissanite-halo-engagement-ring-p-6765.html

Moissanite is a really amazing stone. You can get all the diamond sparkle and the setting of your dreams for an affordable price. I would suggest going to the better than diamond forum if you'd like to learn more about it. They're is a lot of information there!

Another option is Asha diamonds, which are CZs with a special coating. Apparently they are the best diamond stimulant out there. They would be even more cost effective than moissanite... but imo a CZ really is just a "fake diamond", where as a moissanite is a legit gemstone with beauty all it's own :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE that 2nd moissanite ring you posted!!!  I always thought I had to have a diamond, but after reading more and more about moissanite and other gemstones, I'm beginning to think a little outside my box.  I don't want a CZ though, I'm adamant about that.  I love me some Diamonique for fashion jewelry, but not for my engagement ring.  I think he'll be able to find something really nice for $1,000 bucks, lol, we'll see.
