i was so excited when they called! i don’t have a baby sitter so i had to find an hourly drop-in daycare, and then i went into town and paid her a visit! (apparently you have to look at the gown within the first two weeks, or they don’t have recourse with the designer if something isn’t right.) she’s a little roomy in the top (which i was expecting) and fit everywhere else (which i wasn’t expecting, but i lost about 10lb by accident over the last few months…usually i “acidentally” go in the other direction on the scale!) but i’m hoping to lose a bit of weight any way. they told me when i ordered it that they can take it in up to three sizes if i lose weight, and they threw alterations in for free also, so it won’t cost me a dime.
i’m still not feeling the matching jacket, but i’ll save those pix for an accessories thread when i’m ready to decide what to wear on my shoulders.
i took the roses off the dress already so i can start coordinating accessories with the color, but i plan on leaving them off because i’m not into matchy flowers on dresses like that. i’m not sure if i should leave the dress plain (which is fine, i don’t NEED embellishment per se), or maybe wear a belt/sash, or possibly a crystal applique or brooch where the flowers were.
don’t mind the bra strap on this one…i plan on having them sew cups in so i don’t need to wear a bra at all.
the fabric is so cool. kind of a pale blue/gold iridescent. it’s pretty subtle, but not as subtle as it looks in the pictures. it’s pretty wrinkled now…i hope that’s just because of packaging and that taffeta doesn’t wrinkle super easy. although it’s not the end of the world if it does, just a little inconvenient, lol.
