I love this post. So honest and we all have a little “four dress bride” inside of us, trying to get out. This made me laugh out loud. You are too cute! I can’t decide either, and although I haven’t purchased the dress I “think” I want right now, I imagine I’ll end up with it, or something similar, in the end.

Great advice!! I change my mind daily, and have already made the mistake of buying one dress that I am now no longer interested in. I think all brides-to-be need this advice.

AMEN to stop looking! I have my dress ready to go, but I fell in love with a short tea length dress at David’s IN THE WINDOW the other day. I had to just keep driving. lol

Wow 4 dresses– I think (and hope) that’s a record!

I’ve always like Randy’s (from SYTTD) rules of wedding dress shopping:

1.  Don’t try on dresses that are outside your budget

2.  Don’t keep secrets from your bridal consultant

3.  Once you find THE dress, stop shopping

4.  Leave the entourage at home

and my personal fave…

5.  ALWAYS wear underwear (lol)!!

I am so glad you posted this and I feel better knowing that I am not the only one. I was on my way to be coming a 4 dress bride. So far the most I’ve had is 2 at once and I have 9 months to go. Luckily, I was able to sell my 2nd one at cost. I still have my first one that I still find pretty but have doubts that it will fit my theme. I change my mind about it daily…sigh.

I continue to look and will continue to try them on but have vowed not to buy another until I am at my ideal weight (my estimate is November/December). I’m not usually a window shopper but I can’t help myself for these dresses. There are just so many to choose from and only one opportunity to wear one.

LOL, I am a three dress bride and wore two of them so I’m glad someone beat me. Although there were two other dresses that I put small deposits on and then forfeited them..Embarassed And in the end, I STILL did not find my dream dress (but liked the ones I bought enough) . Glad you found yours!

I am so glad I am now married and never have to shop for a wedding dress again.

I am a 3 dress bride..  So far!  But am now trying to sell the 3rd so I can buy a forth & seriously considering buying a fifth because I can’t decide between the 4th & 5th!  Nightmare..

I wish I had read this when I first got engaged!!

Our engagement is 18 months, so my idea of my ‘ideal gown’ has changed a lot throughout this time.  1st dress was way too casual in hindsight and had regrets about not buying a ‘classic’ wedding dress.  So I sold it at a loss.  2nd dress I bought at a sample sale, loved it but decided it wasn’t the right one either.  Sold it and made a profit.  Now I have my third dress for sale (Atelier Aimee) which I bought on Preownedweddingdresses.com because when it arrived it was too short!  (I’m tall!)

4th is a beautiful Alan Hannah dress which I’ve posted about before, 5th is a preowned Melissa Fern.  I really want to make the right decision this time and be done with it..  My wedding is now 7 months away & I’ve got other things to get organised in this time.

So yea – totally agree with this advice – research and then stop looking!  Now, if I could only follow it myself.. Wink

Loved your story!  I am a 3 dress bride.  #1 came from David’s Bridal–I felt pressured to buy something while my mom was in town.  #2 also came from David’s Bridal, although they let me exchange #1.  #3 came from yourdreamdress.com–an Anne Barge at an unbelievable price.  I hope to sell dress #2!

Thank you for this.  I haven’t bought a dress….yet.  I simply can’t decide but keep going back to a particular dress time and time again.  Then I second guess the dress and go through the cycle again.  UGH.

Stop looking — got it!

Thanks for the advice! I just bought my dress today, and am going to try really hard to stop looking! I can’t afford to buy another. ^^;
