My dress isn’t a lace dress but my 2nd favorite dress was all over lace. It was form fitting and very flattering. The catch with all over lace dresses is that they are HEAVY! Just take that into consideration.

Out of the 2 dresses I like the 2nd one the best. The neckline and straps on the first dress has the potential of not being flattering… the 2nd dress is a classic shape and style that you can’t go wrong with.

I had a lace dress and I loved it.  I’ve attached the pictures.

Umm..this is weird, but that second picture is me!!!.. LOL..

If you are interested in the dress, I am going to be selling after the wedding (June 5th).. It’s a size 8 and it hasn’t been altered.

I am going to be wearing an all-over lace dress for my wedding. I know that some lace dresses can be heavy, but this dress doesn’t have crinoline or more than two layers, so it’s actually fairly light. The think with lace dresses is that you really need something on the dress to break up the lace, a charmeuse waist sash, a little bit of bling around the bust, an interesting neckline. Otherwise the solid allover lace has a potential to make you look heavier than you really are (learned this from my seamstress!)

I think it depends on the style of the lace dress.  I definately wanted lace on my dress and ended up getting one with lace overlay.  I did try on one complete less dress that was very heavy and almost seemed very “brownish” for being ivory.  But I do love the LOOK of that second lace dress.

I’m wearing allover lace and I <3 my dress. Here’s a pic. Ignore the gut, this was taken 15 lbs ago.

Yup, I wore (almost) all-over lace and I’m a size 12/14. I LOVED my dress!

I am *not* a lace person, but my dress was all lace on the top, and lace overlay on the skirt, and I loved it!

professorbee, Your dress was gorgeous! Was it very heavy?

Thanks – it was heavy since there were many layers to the dress.  The funny thing is that the first time I tried it on I didn’t even notice that it was heavy.  I realized it was heavy when I tried it on for a second time before I ordered it.  But I didn’t even notice the weight on my wedding day – I was so sad to take it off when the wedding was over.
