So I finally got to go and try on MY dress, in the correct size and such last week. I bought a spanx shaper to wear under it, and since it had straps I figured I would be okay with my shaper with straps.  But as you can see now, it sticks out, especially in the back. So any suggestions? I have found some on JcPenny's website but since I live in the middle of no where, there is no way to try them on. I also kind of hope to find something that isn't just scary looking when my wedding dress comes off later in the evening (ya know... on the wedding night). There are some pretty lace-y corsets/ torsolettes but I'm not sure if they will hold everything in and make the slim, smooth lines i want under my dress.

    Without further ado, my dress!

Bareneccessities.com is my favorite site for shapewear (and they are currently having a HUGE sale!).  They are easy about returns.  I swear by both SPANX and Assetts (the cheaper version available at Target).  Just check the size chart carefully before purchasing.  When I bought Assetts in my appropriate size they were easy to get on, but I wanted more sucking in power so I bought them a size smaller.  It depends on how much you want to struggle.

I suggest buying the slimming shorts as high waisted as possible so it doesn't roll down when you sit and then getting either bra cups put in your dress or a pretty strapless bra that wont show.  I don't reccomend the fancy shmancy corsets and lacy things as they might show through your dress. They have some pretty shapewear that has lacy parts too if you care about that, I just care about looking slim! Smile

Also, not to give u TMI but if you buy the spanx with the "Cotton double gusset" that means it has a "pee hole".  It really does work but it takes practice to not make a mess LOL so practice going to the bathroom in them before your wedding!!!!!

@MissMusic: Thanks so much! I will have to look there. That was one of my main things, I didn't want any awkward bulges from the end of the whatever, the one I have is like a full suit thing, from top to my thighs, which I really liked, I have HUGE hips/love handles and wanted to smooth that out.

Like @MissMusic: suggested I am having a bra put into my dress and got super high waisted sucker-inner underwear at Kohl's. They have some pretty decent stuff there, but I don't really remember seeing any that looked "pretty".

Mine are industrial. LOL! I am NOT going to look attractive when the dress comes off at all. They look like an old school girdle.

@Ms. Peach: I'm seeing that may be the best option, finding ANYTHING at this point is the main idea. Though I am REALLY not comfortable not wearing a bra, sewn in cups or not. Plus, other than a bustle I dont need atlerations so I would like to avoid paying for them if possible

@chasesgirl: I'm sure you can get a strapless bra that works. Bring a picture with and go to Nordstroms or VS and have someone help you find one where the strap won't show. Maybe get a few to take home and try - just leave the tags on.

If you get underware that goes up high enough so they meet the bra you'll be totally covered underneath.

@chasesgirl: Now that I'm thinking of it I think VS has some sort of stick on strapless bra that is made to not show in the back.
