Hi Bees!! I need a little advice…
I am a Canadian bee.. and I ordered my dress from a boutique in the states… It has arrived!!! YAY!! I am flying down in two weeks to bring her home with me!
Now here comes my dilemma… I was convinced by my mom to order a dress too small.. I have been losing weight.. and when I ordered my dress it was approx. 10 inches too small… Now that I am two weeks away from picking my dress up I still have 2 inches to go… I am totally stoked and happy about the weight loss success I have had so far and I know I will have those last 2 inches gone plus a few more well before my wedding and more than likely before I even need to do alterations.. but i soo desperately want my dress to zip up when I go get it!
According to my measurements it fits in my bust and hips.. its just my waist that is still 2 inches too small…. it is a zipper back, so unfortunately I dont have the corset back to give me a little extra room…. Do those shapewear waist cinchers really work? Not a corset but the waist cinchers, like the miraclesuit shapewear one of the spanx one?
Any tips, advice.. words of encouragement or anything is very much appreciated!! Thank you!!

Good for you!! Shapewear can definitely make a difference, so it’s worth giving it a try. Plus you still have 2 weeks to go, so you might be really close already when you try it on. 🙂

Firstly, a huge pat on the back for losing so much so far- you’ve done really well!
I wear shapewear on most special occasions… I too have lost a large amount of weight and now have excess skin which tends to show up under certain garments. My favourite shapewear piece is like a one-piece swim wear (we call them bathers here…) with a hook and eye clasp between the legs for ease of using the toilet. I lose an inch all around and also have a much smoother look under my clothes. Mine was really cheap, under AUS$20 and does the trick!
You might also be able to have the zipper back converted into a corset if needs be. Take it to your seamstress and see what options you have.
Good luck, and don’t worry too much!

I wore a waist cincher and it worked nicely. Helps me get into pants that are way too small in the waist, lol. Congrats! Can’t wait to see the dress and be very proud of your weight loss!

Thank you soo much everyone! I am really pleased with my hard work so far! Although I still have a ways to go!
I want to keep the zipper.. it has buttons all the way from the top to the bottom of the train and I am just in love with that, so i dont want to lose that by changing it into a corset back!
i am going to go out in the next day or two with a measuring tape and hopefully find a good waist cincher or something equivalent… I am just hoping for some real girl opinions on this as the seller website reviews never give that info! 🙂

Makemeamrs: spanx will do wonders and take down at least an inch!!! you might just be ok if you are very conscious the next 2 weeks and get some shapewear!!!
