So I was watching Friday's episode of Say Yes to the Dress and saw one of the girls tried on my dress, the Lazaro I wore for our ceremony. Her reaction: "This dress is HIDEOUS. I feel sorry for the designer." (!) Then she went on to purchase another dress from the same designer (don't know if she was aware of that fact). Now, most Bees probably know that I had horrible anxiety about my dress last year and ultimately bought another dress I wore for our reception, but I had ultimately made peace with this dress too. I actually thought it was a gorgeous dress, just didn't fit me all that well. But hideous? I laughed it off but made me me wonder if anyone else thought that when I walked down the aisle.
What do you guys think - was my dress really that ugly? Would you care if someone called your dress that?

Girl. Come on. You should not be giving this a second thought! Your wedding is over, you wore the dress, and you have photographical evidence that you looked DROP DEAD GORGEOUS in it!!
Those snobs on SYTTD make the most insane comments about ALL the dresses. And many of them have awful taste. I won't get into it or name names for fear of offending anyone who went with the particular dresses/designers I have in mind, but you have to agree with me, right?!
absolutely not! If there was anyone who thought it was ugly I bet there were also other wishing they could be walking down the aisle in such a dress. You wore it well.
lol i saw that episode too... i think she probably just meant it REALLY wasn't what she imagined herself in. she was a fairly dramatic girl. i thought the dress was very beautiful. It also fits you a lot better than it did her. i dont think anyone thought it was hideous on you :) You looked stunning in it.
I think it is a pretty dress and I really think it looks much nicer on you! Don't let her comment get to you.
LOL, thanks...I know it's months after my wedding but I guess I still needed some reassurance. My husband was in the room with me when I was watching and it made me a tad embarrassed. He just laughed and said "well this girl also said she's a 10 so there's obviously a problem with her vision" :)
That girl is crazy! That dress is beautiful and you totally rocked that dress. Your photo could be an ad for that dress.

The dress she bought is actually very pretty. I'd tried it on and decided it wasn't for me.

I remember that show and I was actually surprised when she said it was hideous because I thought it was beautiful, and much nicer than the one she ended up with. I think you looked exquisite in that dress. She may not have been woman enough to carry off wearing that dress, but you obviously are. No worries!
That girl must be crazy! The dress is AMAZING, i totally love it, and you look STUNNING! Seriously. I've seen your wedding photos before, and i always thought how beautiful you are and how gorgeous your dress is!!

Well, I have to say that dress is quite beautiful, ESPECIALLY on you. And more flattering than on the girl from the show. It could be her unpleasant expression though. :-)
But I'd say you have nothing to worry about.
Honestly, it's not something I would ever wear. But if you liked it and felt beautiful in it, that is all that matters. It was YOUR wedding day, not some girl on TV's!
The dress did not look good on her. The dress looked PHENOMENAL on you.
Don't be influnced by others comments. your wedding is over, and i think you look so beautiful in that dress. It is perfect for you, no matter the design or the color. There are many fabulous embroideries on it, whcih is so gorgeous. Different people have different tastes, just forget others words!
Oh Meliss {{hugs}} firstly I'd care if someone said that about my dress. Everyone has their own individual taste but no matter your taste I can't see how a wedding dress could be ugly. It's not ugly and you know I think how beautiful you looked. Don't take any notice she's just obviously a brash person. x

puh-lease, it's that betch who's hideous. you AND your dress were absolutely stunning! the most memorable bee wedding of the year for me!

I know I called some dresses yucky or hideous when I tried them on and I've actually seen on here that other bees are wearing. It's just different opinions and its different how it fits on you. I thought you looked great! Dont give this a second thought.
She sounds a little like a brat, but its her right to say she thinks its ugly! She probably wasn't thinking "You know I better be careful what I say I dont want to offend anyone with my opinion!"

And to the OP...please please please do NOT do this to yourself! Your dress looked absolutely GORGEOUS on you! You totally rocked it!
BUT...I do know how you feel. If I had a dress and someone referred to it as "hideous", yeah that would bother me ...but in the end I would look at all the pics and remember how I felt that day and nothing else would matter. I am sure there were TONS of people who told you how gorgeous you were in that gown! :-)
I think your dress is AMAZING. And as a side note, you are waaaaay prettier than the girl on SYTTD. 
You look SO much better in that dress than she did. Very stunning. As your husband said, there's problem with her vision.
Chances are, there's always going to be someone out there who thinks your dress is hideous. There are millions of women in this world getting married and each of them has an opinion. Your day is over, it was wonderful, I think it's time to move on now. What are you doing to do, go back in time and change your dress? You're torturing yourself over something that cannot be changed and that, my dear, is a sure-fire way to make yourself unnecessarily miserable.
She didn't have enough going on up top (if you know what I mean) to carry your dress. Instead of admitting that, she slammed the designer :P. It's a gorgeous dress, and you made it look even better! It would bother me too if someone said that about my dress, but don't let it get you down!
I'd like to second all the comments about how beautiful your entire wedding was. Do not let one person (who obviously lacks taste) ruin that for you.
You looked amazing in that dress. It was very pretty, that chick didn't know what she was talking about (also she didn't look as good as you did in it). It would probably bother me too but some people are just... particular. You looked fabulous!
What difference does it make what someone else, much less a total stranger, thinks about your dress? Are you going to look at your wedding pictures differently because a total stranger made a comment on a television show? And since you got married 8 months ago, why would you even let this effect you?
If you were happy with your dress, that's all that matters!!!!
And, from your photos, it looks like you were happy with it!
