I went to David's Bridal  Aug. 28th and ordered my dress. I just received a call a little while ago saying my dress is in. The stores I went to made me nervous that I was pushing it with how long I waited. I am just curious if this happens to be really early and most dresses take longer. OR Most dresses don't take that long but can take up to 6-9months? One store told me had to make my decision in the next few days (which is partly why I didn't go with that dress). The associate said if I didn't I am risking not having it before the wedding.

Your poll is missing 3-6 months, and that's where mine would fall! Mine was ordered in January and came in about 4.5 months!

A couple of weeks is super quick, but I have heard David's is a bit different than most salons.

Can't wait to see pics when you pick it up :)

Sometimes DB just ships your dress in your size in from another store, so maybe that's why it was so fast?

I am still waiting for my dress after 8 long months.  I called the dress shop and they say its stuck in customs!  What a nightmare, they don't even know when it'll be in.

OttawaBride2011 Opps sorry I fixed it LOL.

jo.lee When they ship from another store is it one everyones tried on? They had my dress in my size at the store but I wanted a brand new one. The seams were all stretched, there was a rip in the back near zipper, and it was really dirty. I'm going to give it a good look over and try on before I leave the store. I'll be really irritated if it is a used one from another store (or from that store).

ta27 wow that stinks! Hopefully it won't be much longer.

Mine was actually less than 1 month (I voted 1-3)

I ordered it from David's Bridal and they told me 6 months.  2 weeks later I picked it up.

@Engaged_With_Love: Yeah, it would be their sample if that's what they did. Check it over carefully, but I bet since you requested one to be made, you're in a different boat. Hopefully it's brand new! :)

Is there any way I can tell if it is brand new? I know I sound picky but even if it looks brand new they had it dry cleaned and the seams and rip were fixed, I'd still be mad because its the principle.

I also ordered my dress from David's Bridal and it took less than a month to get in even though they told me 3 months.  I was told it was brand new and it looks perfect, so I'm pretty sure when you place an order it's a brand new dress.  Good luck!

davids bridal is completely different from other bridal salons. they usually have more of the same dress in their warehouse and can ship it out faster because they only carry 3 lines, DB, Galina and Oleg Cassini

other bridal stores are just authorized dealers for the designers so its a much longer process... but yeah i totally know the feelin of bridal stores trying to make u feel rushed.. ugh

Mine is taking up to 12 months! Thank goodness I ordered it 14 months early.

However, DB usually ships pretty fast so I bet you're okay. :)
