Mrs.Z.:  I would email the seller and see if she can take it back. That’s pretty crappy that she lied about hemming it.

Are you wearing heels in this picture? Two options: 1) Fight the purchase and even the shipping costs because the seller lied about the hem; 2) try to resell. You should be happy with your dress and not heartbroken. Its a lovely dress but you shouldn’t have to settle!

I agree it looks beautiful! But definitely seems like heels would take it off the ground a bit.

Mrs.Z.:  I think it looks great! I google imaged it, and did a side by side just to compare possible differences and didn’t see any. It really is too bad about the hemming, I’d be upset for sure. Why do you think it doesn’t suit you? Would you maybe feel better if you had your hair done, and dressed it up a bit?

I think it’s gorgeous and just the right length for you. If it reaches the ground, then you are more likely to trip on it.

Looks beautiful on you.  Maybe just wear a petticoat underneath to give it a more defined A line.

I think it fits you wonderfully and is a very pretty dress! What don’t you like about it anymore?

I’m going to be honest and disagree with basically everyone: I don’t think it’s flattering. You look like you have a great body and this dress just isn’t doing it for you. It overemphasizes your hips.

I also think the little shorter skirt part of the dress looks kind of like an apron.

Now I’m certainly not saying it’s hideous and you looks hideous in it — I’m just turning a critical eye to it and I think other dresses would be more flattering on you.

Mrs.Z.:  You look awesome in the dress– the dress is absolutely stunning.

And I know hacing the option of shoes is awesome- I wore flats for our wedding and I don’t regret it for a minute!

    TheGridMonster: I agree.

Mrs.Z.:  You look like you’re slim with a rocking bod. But do you have a small waist and hips that are significantly wider? I ask because I’m a size 6 in dresses but I’ve got an hourglass shape, and when I tried on a dress in a similar silhouette, all it did was magnify the width of my (otherwise awesome!) hips. It looks like this dress is doing the same to you.

That said, it is a GORGEOUS dress and there is nothing wrong with showing off your hips! Just, if that’s not the effect you’re going for, then I agree, this cut of dress isn’t the thing.

It’s such a popular gown – I’m quite sure you could resell it. If you’re in a part of the world where it’s not often sold (you mentioned international shipping costs) you might well recoup the entire amount you spent. If I were you, I’d put it on the market, because the last thing you want is to feel uncertain about your gown. You never know, someone might snap it up tomorrow, and you’ll have worried for nothing.
