So my dress came in, and I am so excited! I am wearing Sophia Tolli babette. It’s from her fall 2012 collection!
i still need to get it fitted, particularly in the busy area. For you brides with a strapless dress, are you wearing a bustier?

Lovely dress, you look great in it!! To answer your question, I was told by the woman doing my alterations that they don’t like to have the brides wear extra layers under the dress if possible. They are sewing in some cups for me so that I don’t have to worry about a bra. Good luck with alterations!!

AHart77: I never considered that possibility. It sounds like the seamstress knows what she is doing!! I might request that myself to help the dress fit better. Ever since breastfeeding my ladies haven’t been the same 😉
MrsUPS: thank you 🙂

Trust me – you are going to want to wear as few layers under that dress as possible! I was sweating up a STORM in mine! I wore a strapless bra and a petticoat (in hindsight, that wasn’t a great idea – the extra layers = HOT!). I had to keep taking little breaks and having my bridesmaids fan out my dress so I could get some air up under there. I know it’s totally TMI and really not sexy, but I wish someone had said that to me. I would have worn nothing under my dress had I really stopped to think about comfort rather than the way it looked…
