I’ve been not-so-patiently waiting since the beginning of February for my dress to arrive.. and she finally came today!! I’ve had quite the dress journey & am super happy that it’s over with! Here’s a little recap of the serious contenders..
First, I chose the Watters Adelaide ball gown & was thrilled to find it pre-owned at a fraction of the retail price. The seller was amazing & so sweet but unfortunately the dress ended up being too short, so I had to send it back. Then somehow, I decided I didn’t even like it anymore! I think trying after trying it on with someone else’s alterations & seeing it so short must’ve turned me off of the dress entirely.
Next, I fell I love with two more dresses (Fantasia & Enzoani Egypt) but just couldn’t pull the trigger on either one. There were things I absolutely loved about each dress but something held me back, so I decided to keep looking.

I knew I wanted a dress with a dramatic, embellished skirt. I also knew there was no way I could stretch my budget enough to afford my dream dress – the Lazaro LZ3161 – so I had to keep looking.

Finally, I stumbled across an ad in Brides Magazine for Alyne by Rivini’s Wendy dress. I had never even heard of the designer & there wasn’t a single salon in my area that carried her dresses. As soon as I saw the pictures of Wendy on the website, I fell in love! The skirt reminded me of a softer, more delicate version of the Watters Adelaide & I loved the belt that brought in a little of the bling I loved on the Lazaro bodice.

Problem was, I couldn’t find anywhere to try it on, so I did the unthinkable.. I ordered it sight-unseen from the Wedding Shoppe! I was an absolute nervous wreck about it, but finally got to try the dress on during a trip out of town several weeks later. Luckily, I loved the dress- and good thing since I was gonna be stuck with it regardless!
So.. after 5 long months of waiting, here’s my dress! It needs to be taken in quite a bit at the waist & bust, but otherwise fits pretty well. This is straight out of the box, so please ignore all the wrinkles. (and sorry the pics are so dark!)
Thanks again to all of you that voted & commented on my earlier dress posts.. it was incredibly helpful & I feel very lucky to have found the bee!
