My dress has been in but I just recently went to try it on. I took along my bridesmaids, who hadn’t seen it in person yet since I chose it with just my mom… so I was excited to share! I was so nervous to try it on – I did not want to have dress regret! And get this… while my bridesmaids were trying on dresses a bride walked past me in my dress. My anxiety started to build especially when I saw it hanging in the bag… but once I tried it on I knew I chose the right dress!
It’s Maggie Sottero – Lorie. This is pre-alterations! It definitely needs taken in along the bust (and I need a good supportive bra!) and along my thighs/legs because I want it to be more of a fit n flare. Also the cap sleeves need to be sewn on. And I plan to change the sash or take the tulle bow off of it. I ordered in a petite and I’m so happy the length is perfect (I do still have to find my shoes though).
Any ideas on veils ladies? At first I wanted to wear a short tulle blusher or birdcage veil, but now I’m thinking a longer veil or no veil at all – just a flower or clip in my hair.

Wow, you look stunning!!!I think an elbow-length or fingertip-length veil would complement your dress really nicely.

Absolutely beautiful 🙂 Yes, I agree with albow-length..

beautiful dress. I have a thing about cathedral veils, I just love them and one would look amazing with that dress.

you look amazing! I could see any veil length veil working with the dress

You look gorgeous in your dress!! Veil wise, I would love a cathedral veil on your dress, but also agree that any length would look beautiful too. 🙂

Thank you bees and thanks for the advice!! It’s always nice to hear from other brides to be. It’s so hard for me to decide about a veil. I hought maybe I wasn’t a veil bride but then I think this is my only chance to wear one! lol.
@tksjewelry: I like cathedral veils on other brides, but I don’t know if it’s my style – although I do think it would be pretty with my dress. I am getting married outside though which makes me lean toward a shorter veil.

Beautiful! You look so lovely in that dress! I’d go with a chapel length veil 🙂

Gorgeous! I love the neckline and sleeves, and it looks SO good on you! Congrats on finding *the* dress 🙂

I love your dress! I actually tried it on, but I went with the Karena Royale which is basically the same dress minus the cap sleeves and a straight neckline instead of sweetheart. I had planned on changing out the sash as well, but I ended up keeping the one that came with the dress (which looks exactly like yours) and I think it turned out beautifully in pictures. I also had it taken in along the hips to make it more fit and flare- good idea! I hope you’re happy with your dress- it looks beautiful on you!

It looks beautiful on you!

Thank you ladies! After I start looking at the pictures over and over I always start 2nd guessing. I think it’s just so much more beautiful in person! I just need to stop looking at myself because I know I love it when I have it on. 🙂
@celticbride: Thanks for the thoughts! The Karena is beautiful too! I love that Maggie basically makes the same dress in 2 styles so you can find what you’re looking for. I thought the Karena came with an all satin sash. I like the satin sash, on mine but I’m not crazy about the tulle bow – originally I liked it but now I don’t. I might just wear the sash plain or try to take the tulle off and maybe replace it with a flower. I’ve seen some ladies get crystal/beaded sashes instead but I’m not sure if I want all that bling.
