My dress is in! It zipped and buttoned up so I am beyond relieved!!
Quick back story, I tried the dress on in a size 8 and ordered it in a 20 with hem to hollow. So needless to say I was quite anxious about it coming in and fitting all around and the right length! I emailed the store on Monday since my mom was in town on the off chance my dress would be in early. They called me the next day and said it had just been delivered! Here are some of the pics!!
Sash did not come with the dress, I made it.
Not my veil but definitely the length/style I want! I’m hoping to refinish my mom’s veil extension into something similar!
Wearing my mom’s veil, which is too short, and a red sash which I had thought about wearing to for the reception but I’m not sure about now.
I’m SO Happy the dress fits, there’ll be only one small alteration on the back, the top lace is a little loose and then to add the bustle and that’s it! Other than that the dress fit me a little tight, so I’m going to get back into the gym so I’ll actually be able to sit in it, and tone up my arms a bit and I’ll be all set! Oh and the best part I don’t have to worry about wearing a bra!!

Lalavla: It looks beautiful and fits you well! I would only recommend to get a softer hue sash. This is a bit too bold I guess. Maybe you can find a slightly softer tone?

It’s beautiful! I love the first sash with it. Yay for no bra! LOL

The dress fits you beautifuly! Congratulations 🙂 FWIW, I prefer the creme coloured sash over the red… a bit too bold I guess for my taste, but overall you look beautiful!!

sfp: Thanks! And I’m still out on that myself, my mom wants me to get a lighter sash color but I’m not sure because I really like the contrast of when it’s a bow in the back.
Miss Walrus: thanks!

That dress is beautiful and looks amazing on you! I’m not a fan of the red sash, I think it takes away from the softness of the dress. But it’s your wedding!

Lalavla: I love your dress, and it looks fabulous on you! I have to agree with the others, I think the boldness of the red really takes away from the dress. Instead of looking at you and the beauty of the dress, all I see is the red. I think the back of your dress with the buttons and the train and sheer lace is gorgeous on its own, and doesn’t need the trailing ribbon. You want something that is going to add to your look and the beauty of the dress, not chop you in half and take away from the flow of the gown, IMO. The dress really is gorgeous on you!

Lalavla: omg it is gorgeous on you. Fits like a dream. Love the back and train. I would go with a matching sash even over the champagne, it contrasts too much with the train. Definitely am not diggin the red at all. Beautiful!

smad11: Thank you!! And I agree the red is quite bold, I would only wear the red for the reception though as a fun pop of color 🙂
raspberrymojito: Thank you 🙂
Badwolf617: Thanks! Ya I’m still debating on the red, I would only wear it for the reception if I decided to wear it at all. My mom kept saying the red took away from the softness too!
whitums: Ya I’ve got some time before I need to make any decisions. I think for sure I’m going to go with the ivory sash, just not sure if I want to to switch it up for the reception. My mom actually thought the cream ribbon was too dark in comparison to the dress, so that’s what I was refereing to. The red it definitely too bold to have all that ribbon flowing in the back. Thanks for your thoughts I agree 🙂

Lalavla: It looks beautiful on you!! However, I am generally all for colored sashes but I really love the first sash so much more than the red one!! The red doesn’t suit the dress at all! Great choice on the dress though! 🙂
