Don't stress out about exercising/dieting...just maintain your weight and you will be fine :)
If you don't mind me asking- where is it feeling tight exactly? Bust, waist, or hips? Or all of the above?
Some clever alterations can help a lot if you are nervous! My dress is tight right now in the bust, but the waist and hips are fine.
I am following this bee's advice to get the bust adjusted without having the whole top of the dress let out. http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/fix-armpit-fat-and-back-fat-with-dress-alterations-not-exercise
It's too tight in the waist. I'll take your advice and not diet. I'll just keep eating healthy and maintain my three to four workouts a week!
Thanks and good luck with your own alterations! Happy wedding!
Mine is...but it it's any looser it would be too big. i think over the next couple of mos I'll try to lose 5-6 lbs because usually my weight will flux within 5 lbs (depending on eating) so I'd want to make sure that the high end is what I weight now.
You could have her let it out if you're worried but if you're the type of person who can crack down and loose weight within a couple of weeks then you are probably fine with it fitting how it does now.
I have the same issue! Mine JUST does up...but its on the tight side...I have my first fitting tonight and while I'm trying my hardest to be mindful of my eating, I might break down and have it let out a bit - if anything it will ease my mind/stress!
See, this is why I got a corset back ... ha ha.
I think you'll be OK without dieting, as long as you keep up a regular healthy routine. I lost about 5 lbs in the last couple weeks before the wedding without even trying (due to stress, I guess). That's never happened before and I doubt it'll happen ever again!
What are you wearing underneath? A corset bra could do the trick even if you gain a few pounds.
@MissChicken - good luck at your fitting. Please let me know how it went and what your seamstress recommends!
@fontgoddess - I've thought about seeing if she can turn my zipper into a corset...not sure if it's worth the extra expense though. Good to know about the weightloss. I definitely don't eat as much when I'm stressed so it might happen anyway.
@future mrs kirsch - what do corset bras look like? are they painful? My dress has a built in "thing" like an ace bandaga built into it that is supposed to suck me into the dress. I think I probably can skip the bra and have her build in cups or something. But I'm curious about the corset bra.
Depending on the material, a little tightness may be a good thing. My silk dress started to stretch a little bit due to the high humidity on the day of our wedding. D'oh!
I had my first fitting last night. My dress is tight - which is the design and why I chose it. However, I could NOT sit down! OMG! She is letting out just 1/2" on the sides between the hips and knees so I can sit. But any more than that and the dress will appear too big. Yikes. I do not diet but I am going to have to really watch what I eat in the next 30 days. My mom did say I will probably drop a few pounds before the wedding from stress and being on the go - but I can't count on that. I can't stand up to eat dinner at my reception. :)
I am currently in the situation where I DID gain a few pounds, but I am getting better at eating healthy and exercising.
If worse comes to worst the seamstress can let out the dress. Don't worry it really isn't a big deal, they do this allll the time.
Most people I know lost weight in the few weeks before the wedding - whether intentionally or not. Most brides are so busy that they're running around and not getting as much chance to eat. Plus stress can take weight off too. I think you'll be fine if you just stick with what you're doing now.

Hi Bees,
I got my dress and it fits perfectly - in fact if I gain a pound or two, it'll be too tight and won't zip up. Did anyone else have this problem? I'm so worried that it won't fit - I have two months (from today) to my wedding.
Should I diet (I'm not a dieter as I'm petite to begin with)? I'll get alterations done at the end of the month. I'll ask her if there's something that she can do but I'm worried.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
