After not being able to find a dress for what felt like forever, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a dress from Fabulous U. It’s based off the Pronovias Alce (or, realistically, any other lace fit-to-flare), with a couple modifications to the back and neckline. The straps are also removable, because I wasn’t sure if I would want them or not
I think I’m going to have them remove the beading… it looks a little off, I think. But, other than that, what do you Bees think?

The beading does look a little too dark. Can they add sparkle by using sequins and clear/white beading?
Also, will the zipper be covered by anything?
Other than those 2 things, I think it looks great!

It looks really good! I agree about the beading, it does look like random dark silver sequins in some places. It might also be a nice touch to add buttons over the zipper.

It’s really lovely. I really like the straps & the neckline. I love the sparkliness of your dress, I’d add more.

OP I agree with pinkmoon and def love the idea of buttons

Thanks ladies! I asked them to take the beading off, and they said that the zipper should look covered when it’s on my body. I know a few of you suggested getting buttons added, but I think my Maid/Matron of Honor would kill me if she had to do all of those.

Pretty! I love the deep back.

@mepayne: I think you made a really great choice by removing the beads they just didn’t look right. Other than that its seriously stunning you must be thrilled.
I can’t wait to see it on you:))))

Yeah I would use crystal or clear beading, those looks sliver. Maybe another layer of crinoline.. or a slip just for a touch of body in the skirt.. but that’s hard to say without seeing it on. It looks fab though!

@Fizzy8: I almost bought a certain popular Mori Lee gown just because of the v-back. I had to have it!
@Holly77: Me neither! I’ll definitely post pictures. I’ve tried on the same style before, so I have a pretty good idea of how it’ll look, but I can’t wait to actually see my dress!

What a beautiful dress! I have been debating if I want to get a dress online, and there seems to be a lot of good reviews for Fabulous U. I am looking forward to your update when you get the dress!

Those are definitely silver sequins, sewn on with a clear seed bead in the center to hold it on. That fabric is very popular with TheFabulousU – it is all over their Facebook on samples, and it came thru on my gown that was supposed to be made in ivory with gold adornment (and I specifically said NO sequins…). For those who have seen my other posts about TheFabulousU, yes I am still bitter about the whole experience.
