Beatiful dress -- and cute idea to cut it and keep using it! Would you consider coloring it with dye so you could REALLY get a lot of use out of it? (Maybe even wear it to a few weddings, hehe.)
I think it would look great a tea length dress. My friend is doing the same thing, making her dress into a tea length. It is a nice way to preserve it and you actually do get to wear it again
It would look very cute as a tea length. That really stinks that it got stepped on so much and ruined! Make sure you save the dress after you wear it for your anniversary. If you should ever have a daughter or a FDIL, they might want to use a piece of your dress for their something old
looks like a fabulous wedding. i think tea length would be cute.
That is a beautiful dress and think it would make a wonderful tea length dress!
What kind of dress is that? It looks almost EXACTLY like mine, but a little different. Mine is a Maggie Sottero AD1008 (no cool name for mine). I was hoping to have mine cut into a really cool shirt which I could wear under little mini short-sleeved blazers (which I wear constanly). My thought is to have it asymetrical on the bottom because of the rushing (rusching? rooshing?). I just thought it would look really great with jeans. I bet it would good as a knee or tea length as well!
Awwww it would be sooo cute as a tea-length! I am a little sorry to hear that your dress was a bit tattered though. I'm glad you're so positive about it and I bet it will look fantastic!
Yes, do make it tea length! It would still look gorgeous!
HEY! We're using the same DJ you did!! (We're marrying in Skaneateles, NY. My hometown)
I think it would be lovely tea length. Its GORGEOUS!
Thanks everyone! I got the dress from Davids Bridal! I think Im gonna do it!
KellyV - my wedding was in Rochester which isnt to far from you I think. Whirlin Disc did such a great job. I would definately recommend them. I dont think there was one person who wasnt dancing at my wedding. It was great!!!!!
thats a relief to know! A friend of mine said the same thing, so Im really looking forward to it
Let me know if you need the name of a good tailor for your dress if you do decide to cut it. The guy that co-owns the bridal shop where I bought my dress (in Fayetteville, NY) is incredible at reconstruction, he might be a good reference.
You should keep the fabric that gets cut off if you decide to make it a tea length...Then if you have a Daughter or your FDIL you could get crafty and use IT to make their ring pillow or something. :) I say make it a something new you can wear again!! :)
Tea lenght would look great. And if you wanted you could dye it.. check out this how to

So my wedding was perfect and so much fun but my dress paid the price! People stepped on it and pulled the bustle out so there are holes and everything. And im not sure how i feel about preserving it anyways since its kinda like then what?? So my friends mom makes dresses and i was things about having her cut it and making it tea length. It was pretty simple so I think it would be cute. I could take out some of the tulle underneath so it dosent poof as much and then I could wear it for our anniversary. He bought his suit he wore too that way he could wear it for that! So give me your opinions. Below is my dress!!
