According to the size chart, my dress should’ve fit me perfectly – but it’s loose! Not so loose that it would fall off, but not fitted enough to enhance my shape. I found during my fittings that I tended to slouch and puff my stomach out when walking around because that’s when the dress seems to fit better – when I stand up tall and keep my stomach firm it feels less secure. I don’t think it would slip low enough to be scandalous but… I just wish it fit 🙁
I live in a mid-size town and all the seamstresses in our area are either on vacation or can’t guarantee that they can finish the alterations in time (my wedding is this month!) Plus, because of the boning on the dress, having it taken in would be really expensive 🙁
Any suggestions on how to make a dress fit better without extensive alterations? It’s a zipper back, drop-waist A-line. Strapless. I’m a street size 2/4 and the dress is a bridal size 4. I tried a sash but it just seemed to accentuate the chunkyness.
(Yes, I did consider trying to gain weight! But I tend to gain weight first in my face and arms soooo… :P)
