I bought a dress on the internet without trying it on…it was only $100 but originally retailed for $3000! The fabric is amazingly beautiful lace and the bottom part is cut just right to hug my hips in a very flattering way. But, I thought the top part would be ok after getting it taken in a bit, but I still don’t like it. The seamstress put in cups so I wouldn’t have to wear a low back bra, but the cups are pretty big and with the stiffness of the fabric, they just don’t move with me. So if I twist one way, my boobs stay pointing forward! And in general it just doesn’t fit that great on me. I am not sure if the seamstress really could have done anything more with it and I’ve already brought it home so I don’t want to take it back to her since I’ve already spent $200 on alterations, which exceeds my budget.
I’m thinking about adding some trim or something over the front (it is a v-neck halter) to try and disguise the poor fit and stiff chest but am afraid of making it look even worse. Please help! Any ideas?
