I know how that goes. Those dresses are deceivingly heavy! I don't have much in the way of suggestions unfortunately. I just staked out spots with fans occasionally throughout the night, and lifted up my dress a bit so my legs got some air.
Mine too! While being fitted, I could just feel the sweat dripping down my leg. I told my mom that I might have to wear biker shorts under my dress to help sop it up. She was not into that idea!
I got married in Punta Cana, on a very hot and humid afternoon.
I knew it would be hot, so I was wearing not-so-flattering-but-saved-my-life knee length spanks, in order to avoid the dress sticking to my legs and my legs sticking together when I crossed them while sitting (luckily enough, when I stand and walk, I do not have the touching legs problem..)
I have to say though, that later at night, sweat was litterally dripping down my calves. I was very happy to go change in a cute little red dress that I had to party the night away (we had a private ceremony/dinner, then went to the hotel lobby and bars to party, I was more comfortable in regular clothing for that).
I noticed my legs were getting sticky too, during my fittings.
I'm thinking of trying this Monistat Chafing Gel on my legs -- I bought it to use as primer under my makeup, but its original use is for chafing, so, maybe it will help?
@LadyGoodman:You should have seen my DH when we went shopping and I showed him exactly what I'd be wearing under the dress, LOL!! He was like: "do you HAVE to wear that??!" I explained to him that yes, I had to, but had to swear that he would never see it. :)
If you are wearing crinoline under your dress, maybe you can switch to a hoop skirt instead. It keeps material off your legs.
The post title made me laugh! My legs got soooo sweaty during our reception from dancing like a maniac, but there wasn't much I could do about it except kinda flap my skirt around to get some circulation going! I don't know that there's much you can do to stop yourself from sweating, though.
haha - glad to know I'm not alone! and thanks for the suggestions girls!
This is the reason why we're not doing a garter toss :) I know I'm going to be sweaty and gross, and I don't want that to be my fiance's first "intimate" memory of us as a married couple!
@redherring: haha, such a good point. we're actually tossing our bouquet and garter at the same time - I'll be discretely removing mine on my own beforehand...
What about cornstarch? If you put some on your inner thighs/legs it will help absorb some of the sweat. I used to put it on my armpits! :)

Sorry, there are no users yet.
I had my final fitting today and I noticed for the first time - man am I sweaty when wearing my heavy dress in a non-airconditioned place!
The skirt sticks to my legs and it's very uncomfortable.
Any other brides been surprised by this? Any suggestions?
